I agree, but who said his MB was bad, that's why I told him earlier it post to shell out $19.99 for PC-Doctor and find out for sure what is wrong, were all just guessing.
u know he also needs to check hes power supply when their bad but still running, i seen them do weird things to a comp. well he did say hes uncle gave it to him, so maybe he cant afford a new one or buy a diagnostic app.
He needs what I told him before, something that's good and will run diagnostic tests on all his hardware to find out whats wrong.
I'd try going back to the original bios. I'm assuming this is not a new notebook & it's been working fine prior to the bios update. Yes, as MS_User pointed out flashing is dangerous but while it's in this state it's unusable anyway, so go ahead & flash it...
I can't afford the pc-doctor so looks like flashing back to original is the only way . The problem is that I don't have the original bios with me only the updated one
You don't need such stupid kind of SW. Just go to the lenovo forum and look for similar cases. Surely the X220 had the erratic behavior, which was also dependent on the provided power brick. Be sure that no one will be able to make an utility meant to control a pc, which can be stored in the BIOS and which can be generic enough to justify the work. Be also sure that someone who want to control your PC don't want you notice it.
They have it on their websites, yes maybe to advertise, but it also works. Some people here forget the general public is not as well versed as some here, their not smart enough to figure out things that some here can, so they do diagnostic's scan, see what wrong, order part, install, resume life or take it to Computer shop where they really pay. Ya'll forget the public has no idea, so yes it maybe crap to some in here, but not to the million's out there, lol
i had the same with my dell laptop.. (Vista-Ready).. mouse jitters clicking random stuff random driver uninstallation.. and if the wifi/bluetooth were switched off and i was using the inernet by lan cable.. didnt have a problem.. just the internet would drop out every now and then. in the end the laptop didnt like any of the drivers for windows 10. so i reverted back to windows 7, coz vista-ghey. and havnt had a problem since..
I have a dell as well and I don't mind to install it. It's just junk. Each time you try to replace a good logic coming from an human brain with a sw that supposedly does the some work, you make a big mistake. Programs and computers aren't intelligent, yet. I must add luckily they aren't intelligent.
funny thing, i am typing this on exactly the same make and model lenovo lappy. i bought it at a fair for 20 euros. seems it came originally with vista basic. of course, there were issues with it. it refused to boot from the harddisk, the battery was dead as a doornail. the keyboard has a tendency to type extra n and v letters. i replaced the harddisk, no fancy ssd type,i run it with the charger connnected permanently. i installed linux mint on it.[ rebecca.] i did not mess with the bios. no need. if it aint broke, dont fix it. it installed linux just fine. i had absolutely no issues. just a bit slow, but that is no surprise. old machine.i think if mint gives no trouble on the selfsame hardware, it is worth a try to boot from cd with linux mint. and see if your troubles are over. no need to install mint, it should boot fine from cd.even with harddisk disconnnected.worth a try, i guess; does not cost anything, except a lill time.never tried it on windows yet.
the bottom line is this is a very old laptop about 8-9 years old that is not win10 compatible.....most likely failing hardware.....maybe he should try installing XP in it and see what happens
the symptoms the laptop is showing can also be that it got wet, maybe they spill a large amount of coffee or soda on the keypad by mistake and it zip in to the motherboard and damage it, that happens a lot.
Just say NO to Dell Low bidder hardware that is not even consistent from unit to unit within the same model. Driver packages that don't necessarily work with the targeted model due to said hardware inconsistency.
i ONLY spill Heineken on my lappies.. allow to dry, and it usually survives.. coffee, or soda is NOT recommended..
One more question. While being on my computer last night, the mouse didn't act up of jumping around the screen but the hard drive usage was high and the cpu was running high as well. My mouse was showing me the loading sign like something was running in the background. I also found generic volume shadow copys being installed and a weird device called @system32\iphlpsvc.dll,-504 Microsoft Ipv4 and 6 Trantision Adaptor bus while using devicemainview and these were being installed while it was open and my graphics were unistalled again but this time while I was on it. EDIT: After disabling the Microsoft kernel apdapter it suddenly stopped EDITEDIT: MADE A HUGE MISTAKE , all this happens when I connect to a network NOT when the adapter is on.
If it's crap to people here, people with knowledge, then it is crap full-stop People without knowledge who buy rubbish like that, end up with more problems than they already had, and at the very least, less money than they started with, and the exact same problems as before, except now including some useless junk software taking up resources If you believe in scamware like that, you ARE 'The millions out there'
