This is such a new computer that the system firmware of this computer does not support standby state, not support sleep and hibernate, not support fast boot. They simply cannot be used on such new computers anymore. All of this is already present in the new S3 state and cannot be enabled or disabled separately. If the BIOS of this computer still allows you to see these states visually in some setting panel, then it is a manufacturer's scrap. Apparently, a part of the product with outdated settings has just been used. And maybe even the wrong setting allows these features to be turned on, which results in them being searched for at startup and it causing all kinds of strange behavior. You must have fast startup, hibernate and sleep disabled even if you come across or see their setting somewhere and you can enable them. This is the solution you're looking for and what can cause any kind of weird behavior by your new system. It's a really new thing, and even some very new computers still have options for outdated setup options available and possible but they won't work even if they are there visible.
you mean new pc new features by that you mean S3 ( have no idea what it is and never heard of this by my understanding is this is the new feature.) and firmware from manufacturer uses oudated version that does not support it.. so he must wait for manufacture releases updated bios firmware..?
i guess he meant cpu or motherboard so new that the feature S3 is so new that firmware ( your bios) does not suppot it because it outdated. not sure if manufacturer should release updated bios with support. then it shoiuld work fine or as he says disable those settings in bios.
@raptorddd Thanks, You're absolutely right. Basically yes, but if they are there and there is no BIOS/firmware update, keeping them off is all you can do. At the moment, for example, I'm on a computer/more correctly on laptop that doesn't have them at all anymore. On the computer of the same company bought a year earlier, which is basically exactly the same, all the old functions are available there. Although it (this older version) also has a warranty and the BIOS and other firmware are updated quite regularly, just few days ago got all updated again. So, if these old features can still be turned on, they should still be turned off if they cause problems. They are really only relict from old times and are not needed in new systems. And well, I don't know if it's fixed now, there was some problem with the 12th generation Intel processors. I still have only the 11 generations one.
go it. i have 0 knowledge on pc cpus. but am learning. you have 11th gen. all i had before were celeron's the highest was 1.2ghz. then i got a intel pentium 4 with HT. then now CPU i got is 2nd GEN.
What's S3? Anyway, MSI often releases BIOS updates and I always install them. My CPU is from the 12th generation. I was told by MSI to replace the laptop because of this lagging problem.
Don't know, since I don't have this issue before installing the driver or even after installing it with fast startup disabled.
Wow.. My experience, I have Windows 11 (22H2) Pro for Workstation with (Removed TPM, CPU SUPPORT and Secured 8GB Boot) I am on MSI Laptop CR620 4th gen i3 core with SSD and 8GB ram and boot just quite fast.. I also Have dual boot along with Windows 10 (22H2) Pro for Workstation and Windows 11 Pro for Workstation.. No trouble on my MSI laptop!!
I reinstalled Windows 11 with a more recent Build, enabled fast boot and now the characters are taking approximately 10 seconds to appear like before. Oh well... EDIT: I'll remove MSI Center since after installing it and logging into my user account, Windows always states it's installing updates after restarting or turning off the laptop. I'll only install it to install and run "System Diagnosis" to change the battery setting so that the laptop's battery charges until 60% when it's below 50% again since the battery setting is reset every time I update the BIOS (and when installing MSI Center for the first time and afterwards installing and running "System Diagnosis". EDIT 2: I'm not having the previous issue regarding updates so I'll reinstall MSI Center and keep it installed.
