It's not an update like a hotfix. You could apply the image but that wouldn't be an upgrade but clean install. Just let WU have a go, or use the iso or the MCT, Upgrade Assistant, Assistive Upgrade.
This is only my hot suggestion. Do not upgrade using Windows update or what ever, better do a new clean installation. You win a lot of time and much more nerves.
If you use Windows Update system, will all done automatically, but many computers have problems with automatic renewal and certainly part of the programs not work properly after the upgrade. They must be reinstalled anyway. That's why I recommend you do it manually and save only personal files and folders. PS This is for you to decide how you're doing, but this was my recommendation. (It is only recommendation and nothing else.)
Okay, I would like to update my .WIM file (W10 1507). So you recommand me a re-capture with the last build of W10 ?
it is possible to upgrade form 1507 to 1703 but its long and painful, best to download and then do a complete clean install. When i upgraded it happened in segments i just didn`t go straight from 1507 to 1703. Windows update upgraded 1 os at a time till i was at 1703, like i said long and painful and taxing on internet bandwidth for some of you, i didn`t have that problem.
Why not just use the 15063 aka 1703 iso to directly upgrade to the latest build? Or, when it's not enterprise, use the MCT to upgrade?
At the time i was new to windows 10 and there so called free upgrade and how the new upgrade system worked and didn`t want to screw anything up so i chose to upgrade through windows update process. I use windows 10 home and pro. i use home on all my laptops but i have windows 10 pro on my Surface Pro 3 all genuine.
