    Almost 100% that it is something left behind from Norton - I read the thread title and then saw the word "Norton" and laughed

    Norton IS the virus

    Check device manager hidden files for any Norton firewall drivers

    Check Network adapter for norton protocols

    Check Services.msc for any Norton services

    Yes...after removing norton, I checked many times if any norton service is running but ... there was nothing...

    I use firefox mainly ... but when this problem starts happening, IE, Chrome gives me same trouble.
    using the same DNS address.

    pictures of any site are not opening...they r white blank space in place of pictures !!

    Try ccleaner to clean all unused files and registry keys. Uninstall FF. Reboot. Reinstall FF just for testing.

    when you uninstall FF the profile remains on the machine. If FF is the problem, profile must be deleted as well and then newly installed. Best is to safe profile to a secure place and then try reinstalling

    Open command Prompt and type:

    flushdns (Hit enter)

    Try again, if still not working type:

    netsh (Hit enter)
    winsock (Hit enter)
    reset (Hit enter > reboot)
