    Hey everyone,
I've removed my office 2013 to install office 2016 (16.0.8431.2107_en-US_x64_Semi_Annual_Channel_Targeted)
I've been trying to install it for a whole day without any success.
I also failed to install 2013. Both installs freeze around 90%
Edit: I forgot to mention I get the error 30175-11.
I've used the o15-ctrremove tool to remove all file residues and I also deleted all "Office" folders from task scheduler.

Here are the errors I found on Event Viewer: Windows update could not be installed because of error 2149842967 "" (Command line: "wusa.exe "c:\program files\microsoft office\root\integration\windows6.1-kb2999226-x86.msu" /quiet /norestart")

    and
    Windows update could not be installed because of error 2149842967 "" (Command line: "wusa.exe "c:\program files\microsoft office\root\integration\windows6.1-kb2999226-x64.msu" /quiet /norestart")

My last resort is formatting because I'm stuck without windows, otherwise I don't know what else I'm supposed to do.

Edit: I uninstalled the update and ran the install but I still got that error in the event viewer except that now it is only one for the x86 version.

First off, if you're not handling some massive spreadsheet, there's no need for a 64-bit office. That said, it's still your own choice(x86 or x64).

kb2999226 seems to be a universal c runtime update - you should first make sure you have that installed. I suggest you download simplix update pack from the sticky thread up top, rename the downloaded file to UpdatePack7R2--ie11++ and run it as admin. Let it install whatever it needs to install, it could take more than one reboot.
After this, download the desired office pack from here and install it. You can use Microsoft Toolkit to activate it.

    Thank you for your reply.
I've downloaded the office pack using O2016RTool from one of the threads here. Do you believe I need to redownload it?
I forgot to mention the error that stops the install at 90% is error 30175-11
