First of all i am a noob when it comes to linux. Wifi was working fine in 4.4.x but after installing 4.8.x kernel even the switch to on/off WiFi is gone. I googled a lot as i believe in disturbing anyone only n only when its almost necessary. I learned about a bit about "dkms" but couldn't do anything by myself due to lack of knowledge about this stuff.

my wireless card is : Broadcomm BCM43142 802.11b/g/n
default driver is installed : bcmwl-kernel-source
    version: 6.30.223.248+bdcom-0ubuntu8
Broadcomm 802.11 Linux STA wireless driver source
operating system : my beloved mint 18
    cpu : Pentium N3540 (Baytrail)
