I can not verify them (lack of checksum) or if they break protocol.
There are many threads/posts/keys and links(they are for sure expired) about how-to for Windows 7 Beta, here is one of many:

I cant say much about the patch procedure or if it´s even real, some adequate info/links would be highly appreciated and by PM is not inappropriate.

For VMware:
You need an older tool package like VMware 10.0.7 Tools Win (also in your PM)
Anybody else like a PM to links let me know

For VMware I tried a new, interesting switch I have never use before:
rtc.startTime = "1212753600"
This line in *.vmx will set you vm to a specific start date each time you start your vm
To break it down:
1212753600 is Unix/Epoch time (sec´s) and how VMware reads it
Convert this time with (this is an online service and just an example) Epoch Unix Time Stamp Converter and you find this date to be 06-06-2008 12:00:00
Open you beta image with 7z and see file date and set date accordingly.
If you boot into Bios before installing you can verify your settings time/date.
(some info I found, take them with a grain of salt):
1. The beta (build 7000) of W7 expires and will not operate after 2nd July 2009.
2. The RC version expires at the end of March 2010.

Use this with (and this is how it should look like in *.vmx):

rtc.startTime = "1212753600"
time.synchronize.continue ="FALSE"
time.synchronize.restore = "FALSE"
time.synchronize.resume.disk = "FALSE"
time.synchronize.resume.memory = "FALSE"
time.synchronize.shrink = "FALSE"
time.synchronize.tools.startup = "FALSE"
tools.syncTime = "FALSE" <- check if this line is present

Footnote:
tools.syncTime = "FALSE" may already exist in your config file and duplicates will result in that your vm will not be able to open.
