Hello, I have a Sony VGN-NR498D and have been trying to find a SLIC 2.1 solution, but it's proving to be quite a challenge. First, I can't find any modded BIOS for it. Second, I can't find a utility to backup the current Phoenix BIOS (R2060J9), so I can't submit it and request a mod. I'm at a loss and would greatly appreciate some help. I've been searching these forums and google for a while but can't find a solution to either of my 2 problems. Any help is appreciated, please be constructive. Thank you
unfortunately you're not the only one with problems with Sony, as far as I know there is no suitable backup tool to backup a phoenix or insyde bios, the backup tools available only give you a segment of the bios unless of course you can use winphlash and do a backup but to do that you need a later release of a bios for the notebook and in your case sony don't provide one. you'll probably have to use a loader until they release a new bios for it, if they ever do.
