I am sure that all the steps done correctly ISO Image Windows 7 is released for all versions of easy to install ei.cfg Home Premium, Ultimate, etc. (rt7lite program with 100% failure error pops up ) Sorry my English.
rt7lite also returns an error? Then I think there's something wrong with your system. @everyone: the backup files are stored in the winsxs folder, which was to be expected. Now see if they actually are there in slipstreamed version.
You might be running out of harddisk space, it consumes quiet a lot. sp1.exe = +-550MB (wave1) install.wim = 2.xGB mountdir: something like 8.xGB directory with extracte sp1 files: I though at least over 1GB You see, it can get pretty huge. @everyone: The backupfiles are still included in the slipstreamed versions!! When slipstreaming you can't use spsuperseded after integration. But after installation of the slipstreamed version I can remove the files with the spsuperseded command when ran from winpe... weird, very weird
"from winpe"? How exactly did you manage to do this and how much space is freed? Perhaps it is also possible from Safe Mode, haven't tried this yet.
Hm guide seems fine, im almost done following it I'll just update eula/license in sources folder on W7 DVD and then try it if I can.
I mean shut down pc (vm in my case), and boot from install dvd. In the wizard of the dvd you can somewhere click repair. After that it scans and then you click next. Then you can open commandprompt. There you type "dism /image:X:\ /cleanup-image /spsuperseded". Replace X by the driveletter of your windows install. You can quickly find the driveletter by opening regedit first and click file->import, an explorer windows will open from where you can find the letter. The space freed is about the same as when manually installing sp1 with the exe, and then running spsuperseded.
OMG ! Worked like a charm ! Now the install size is even smaller (only 6,9 GB) than RTM + manual SP1 Thanks!! edit: Might it be possible to use the setup files (all but install.wim / boot.wim) from leaked Chinese SP1 integrated ISO (x64)? Well, that is if I can still find a working link.
just a quick heads up,there is a sp1 integrated iso on a torrent site that has : Home Basic 32 bit Home Premium 32 bit Professional 32 bit Ultimate edition 32 bit Home Basic 64bit Home Premium 64bit Professional 64bit Ultimate Edition 64 bit so that should keep the Pirates at Bay
Only for info: I think for all version always <index:INDEXNUMBER> = 1-2-3-4-5. Shure with Home Premium and Professional Edition (x32). Thank'n bye
well... as i'm not able to try myself, i just can share a couple of ideas... Yup... they're quite weird ideas, but the problem it's so weird that a weird idea could be the right one... I know that SP1 it's not slipstreamed in boot.wim .... anyway... is it possible that there's an updated (6.1.7601) DISM.EXE (or one of it's related DLLs) in the WinPE environment ? How could it be possible that the same /spsuperseded couldn't work both on offline and online image, while it works in the repair option of a Slipstreamed Install DVD ? Is there anyone that tried the whole slipstreaming process in a WinPE ? If Yes, So he could try also to see if the /spsuperseded could work from WinPE over the mounted Image... CU Clay
Hi, Just finshed following the guide to the t. Some things i noticed. 1) My x64 dvd (downloaded ages ago from MDL) had only 4 indexes (1,2,3 and 4). Tried to go to 5,6,7 but no such image was found. Which edition is missing? I just booted to RE to test but i guess will have to wait to do a full install to find out unless somebody knows. 2) Its a great guide but i was just thinking that reducing it to the bare essentials would make it sort of more noob-friendly. This is just a humble suggestion to the author. E.g. the unexported install.wim fits onto a single layer dvd, so even that step could be optional? Also, if I just use winrar to extract each cab successively, will the results be different from what one is doing as per the guide? Thanks and great work!
Yes, Windows 7 x64 DVD/ISO have 4 indexes. 1 - Windows 7 Home Basic 2 - Windows 7 Home Premium 3 - Windows 7 Professional 4 - Windows 7 Ultimate And Windows 7 x86 DVD/ISO have 5 indexes, because it including Starter Edition 1 - Windows 7 Starter 2 - Windows 7 Home Basic 3 - Windows 7 Home Premium 4 - Windows 7 Professional 5 - Windows 7 Ultimate
What do you have installed, Windows Automated Installation Kit for Windows 7 (WAIK 2.0) if you want to use this script ?
I have WAIK Installed, because I´m on XP, you need to edit these variables in script. Informations about variables are in script after REM Code: REM Folder, where you coppied Windows 7 installation source set WIN7=G:\Win7 set WIN7SOURCE=%WIN7%\sources REM Folder, for mounting install.wim (this folder must be absolutely empty) set MOUNTFOLDER=G:\Mount REM Folder, where you have windows6.1-KB976932-%ARCH%.exe set SP1SOURCE=G:\SP1 REM Service Pack architecture - x86 (32bit) or x64 (64bit) set ARCH=x86 REM Edit only if you have different name of Service Pack 1 exe set SP1=windows6.1-KB976932-%ARCH%.exe set KB976932=windows6.1-KB976932-%ARCH%.cab REM Service Pack 1 accurate version set SP1VERSION=6.1.1.17514 REM Way to dism.exe - I´m on xp therefore I´m using DISM from Windows Automated Installation Kit for Windows 7 (WAIK 2.0) set DISM=%ProgramFiles%\Windows AIK\Tools\x86\Servicing\dism.exe REM Way to imagex.exe for recompressing install.wim set IMAGEX=%ProgramFiles%\Windows AIK\Tools\x86\imagex.exe REM Set Windows 7 version for slipstream Service Pack 1 by index set INDEXNUMBER=5 REM x86 (32bit) indexes from original MSDN ISO REM 1 - Windows 7 Starter REM 2 - Windows 7 Home Basic REM 3 - Windows 7 Home Premium REM 4 - Windows 7 Professional REM 5 - Windows 7 Ultimate REM x64 (64bit) indexes from original MSDN ISO REM 1 - Windows 7 Home Basic REM 2 - Windows 7 Home Premium REM 3 - Windows 7 Professional REM 4 - Windows 7 Ultimate
Its only another variable for cleaned code. In your mention, WIN7 have contain E:\Win7 and WIN7SOURCE will automaticaly have value E:\Win7\Sources
Why: set WIN7=G:\Win7 set WIN7SOURCE=%WIN7%\sources ?? Set win7=.... Done, then you add %win7%\Sources in the rest of the code?
