I know some peeps are trying to eliminate the lock screen, but i'm just trying to make it work at least stable. Running win10 pro 64 creators update, clean installed uefi and gpt ssd scheme. Tried erasing the assets contents, the settings files, re-registering spotlight. Nothing works. at least sometimes work just for one picture. pLease, it is going to be the last try before returning to windows 7 and ws2008r2 for the rest. I have re-download the iso image from ms twice and from msft also. Thanks for any tip. added info: creating another user seems to be the most durable fix, well, maybe a day or two. also fixes the black active tiles that seems to appear after latestthe windows updates

from my experience spot light works fine is some computers and not in others my theory is depends on the brand and how old the hardware is.

Not sure if age really is a factor, since Spotlight works even on a relative's ancient 8 year old Acer netbook having 2GB RAM and some slow Atom CPU. It's still running 32-bit 1607 though as 1703 hasn't been offered yet via WU.
