What else is there to be said about Windows 8.1 Preview Start Button. Left Click, Start Screen. Right Click, WinX Menu. And Shut down is on WinX Menu, NOT Start Button.
And the sky is blue. Oh, wait, I thought we were saying random facts. I know that, what i said is the power user menu exists in windows 8. I never ever said start button "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Have you noticed that the "shut down" from WinX-Menu is different than the other shut downs ? WinX-Menu shut down uses: shutdown.exe /s /t 0 (without using of hibernation, -> fast shut down, -> slow start up) Other shut downs uses: shutdown.exe /s /hybrid /t 0 (with using of hibernation, -> slow shut down, -> fast start up)
The start button on 8.1 isn't really anything amazing to me. I still drag my cursor to the far bottom-left of my screen, and click to get to the Start screen. If anything, the button slows me down now since I actually take the time to make my cursor land on the Windows logo itself I didn't really use the right-click thing on the Start button. But taking a look at it now... that quick access to Device Manager and a few other things seems pretty awesome. I should use that menu a bit more
I've heard another way to shutdown, but it needs a touch screen (which I don't have) : press on the start-tip for about 2 seconds, a menu will appear.
Until W8.1 peoples was complaining about their start button and now, when MS has put it back(in a different form)they want to disable it!And,yes only we have to do for start menu is press win key.Ability to boot to the desktop is for me a great feature.
Like a normal Touch Screen is working in most Tablets! Only the timing is slightly different from OS to OS!
was looking around for this "timing" adjustment and found the screws for fine tuning in control panel/pen and finger input category
