too much BS here unless you people have REAL MS internal source or unless a REAL MS employee confirms this "no SP2" stop crapping around google with bunch of amateur blogs is hardly a good source
I believe there will be a SP2. Only when Win 8 has received sufficient support. Else what would the media write? The usual.
The only reason that XP got a third SP, was because hardly anyone was upgrading to Vista at the time. I believe the same will happen probably sometime in the middle of next year, when MS realises that (again) almost no one is upgrading to either 8 or 8.1, and will have 2 options:- 1) Release SP2 for Win7 or 2) 2 OS versions of Win9, one for touchscreens (Modern UI), and the other for desktops and laptops (Modern UI Disabled, but can be re-enabled if users want to use this interface.)
so make new 7 iso, slipstream SP1 + all hotfixes and voila, you have yourself an SP2 honestly I have no hotfix installed after SP1 vanilla and OS runs perfect
I don't complain either. It would take me about 35 min. to slipstream them all (~160 all WU) and save it as a new .iso
which app do u use? cause I use mcRip tool to download and integrate the updates and in i7 system it takes about 2 hours from msdn 7 x64 sp1 iso Only main updates wu sutisfy updates and ie10 related + offline image integrate updates....
It is really strange that the two operating systems (XP and 7) that are responsible for more than 80% of MS's client OS market share are more or less abandoned. I have no issue with XP, but this is unjustified for 7. Recent data on OS adoption indicate that slowly organisations are migrating to 7 or 8 with higher uptake for 7. With that in mind, it would be very difficult for IT admins/consumers to work with win 7 sp1 (released in Feb 2011) and cope with close to 32 months of updates. With that in mind, it would be easier for users to have a SP2 that would bring 7 upto date. I think MS has more or less curtailed resources on win 7 except for monthly updates. I would hazard to say that 7 is now abandoned. There is a very remote possibility of SP2 even though it would make sense for millions of users. Remember that 7 is now the leading OS. Keeping MS's recent philosophy of keeping its head in the sand and not listening to consumers (win 8 fiasco), that would be expected. Even 8.1 start button restore is MS way of spitting on its customers and taking vengeance for their shouting about the start button. In 8.1, You left click in the traditional and get dumped on to the start menu. Right click does get you to shutdown/restart and computer management, but right click was not the traditional way at all.
coz of money In past when manufacturers made quality cars and engines and toys and what-not, buyer didn't have to buy new one for at least next 5-7 years these days its reverse situation, quality is crap and you have to buy things every 2-3 years BUT in IT world they force you to upgrade to new by simply dropping support and voila, company gets nice revenue with people start buying NEW OS/keys there is nothing wrong with windows 2000 there is nothing wrong with windows XP there is nothing wrong with windows 2003 there is nothing wrong with windows 7 (yes I skipped Vista, it doesn't belong on this list ahahah)
Windows 7 SP2 will be here when it's here. All the speculatin', moanin' and groanin' ain't gonna change that. But, the threads are always fun to read ... all of them. I imagine the next one will be too.
True, MS hasn't said no to making a SP2 for Win7, just that they have no plans at the moment, which makes sense since they are about to release Win8.1! Don't forget, mainstream support for Win7 does not end until Jan 2015, so MS still has time to test and release SP2.
