I don't know what that is, if you've taken hardware diagnostics tests at Dell's site and passed, that would tell me a software conflict, is driver listed in device manager the same as one listed in programs and features in control panel, I would delete one in program and features, do not reboot, then uninstall one in device manager, it will install what it thinks best on reboot, do it, will probably solve problem before Dell messes it up
Am confused, when I go to programs and features, the only thing I see are AMD Catalyst Install Manager and Catalyst control center and none of those match up with the driver that I have installed under device manager..version 15.200.1062.1004 created on August 3rd so not sure what I should do..I called Dell and found out the thing I posted before was my actual computer LOL the video card is coming tomorrow but there is no guarantee that the person putting it in will know anything about drivers so I told her "What he is just going to come put in the card and leave, not even check to see if it works" LOL that makes no sense, if someone can open up a PC they can install a driver or at least make sure that the darn thing works
Just wanted to throw in an observation here.... Dell would not be sending out a technician with new hardware to install if it was not already diagnosed as being faulty. They are not in the habit of throwing expensive labor and hardware around unless from their testing it's absolutely required... EDIT: Yes, I clearly saw the post, thanks... But maybe some detail is missing here because the hardware is on the way regardless, and it's not cheap for Dell to take this route... Just sayin'...
If you read posts she has already passed all hardware tests at Dell site I think she has 2 different drivers installed and Dell just doesn't know what to do
I will gladly do what you stated above to do except I want to make sure I uninstall the correct thing if I make a mistake they put the blame on me so dont want that to happen
Just delete ccc in control panel, programs and features, reboot, see if it is better I don't believe removing driver could be considered neglect by Dell, what would Kobe do, he would shoot
Well sometimes Kobe overshoots which gets us into more trouble than its worth LOL OK so just want to be sure I understand before I do this..I go into the control panel, remove Catalyst control center..reboot, and see if anything changes? Would I have to install Catalyst Control center again or do I not even need it? Do I need to install anything or just leave it alone(Since AMD Catalyst Install Manager is still installed) Heck I wouldnt even know if this fixes anything since the issue doesnt happen all the time but heck no harm in doing it
You still have driver in device manager, do it or I will send the MOB over there to help, jk, lol How can I put this nicely, TAKE THE SHOT You'll know
OK will do..will remove catalyst control center, reboot PC and see what happens..that simple, thats all I have to do
K its uninstalled and I rebooted..everything seems to be fine, not really sure since it didnt happen all the time so cant really tell..should I go on AMD's site and download the updated catalyst control center not sure if that is something that I even need..on my PC I would always when I right click I would see an option for it
OK, listen closely, go to AMD site, use their auto detect, you want full ccc and driver, download to your desktop, (The desktop) where its easy to get to, after that go to device manager, display driver, unplug your Ethernet cable so winders can't reinstall driver when you reboot after uninstalling the driver from there, reboot, now install CCC driver, plug Ethernet cable back in reboot again. Does not matter if it's beta, it's good And by the way, do not download any driver with the word Nvidia in it, you do not have that video card.
K cool I think I understand what I have to do..go to AMD's site, let it auto detect what I need to install..says its this amd-catalyst-15.7.1-win10-64bit.exe and that it includes the same driver number that I have now..Ok so I go into device manager, go to AMD Radeon 7500 HD go into driver and uninstall the driver(Which I Guess uninstalls everything with it) then I reboot the PC, unplug from the internet..then when the PC is rebooted(Still with the internet unplugged) I install the new AMD Catalyst Control Center and it will install what is necessary for me is that correct
After you install CCC, reboot again with Ethernet plugged in You have AMD Radeon Video Card, not Nvidia Let Dell people give you new card, but they will probably put old Dell drivers on it, you know how to uninstall them now from device manager, The only drivers I use from Dell site are BIOS driver to flash BIOS
Sorry it took me so long to write back was having dinner LOL..any who Im in device manager now, went to the driver and the warning message about uninstalling the driver, it has a box for me to check which says "You are about to uninstall this device from your system(AMD HD Radeon 7500 series) and underneath it has a little checkbox for "Delete driver software for this device"
