don't use 10549,it has a bug.if you use 10549 Ghostexp to modified a 11.5.1 backup Gho file to add a file, and then 10549 Ghost32/Ghost64/Ghostexp cann't open the Gho file again. The last good ver is 10531.
IMO, the last good version is 8065. It doesn't make you span large image files. The newer 10xxx builds seem to insist to create an image spanning it in several files. I don't like it. BTW, I know there's a ghost.ini file where you can define: Code: span(Spanning) = N But the 10xxx builds seem to ignore it.
I've been upgrading to the newer versions without issue. When saving through a Ghostcast they are split by default (always) but if I manually save over lan or to a ntfs formatted device it's saved as 1 big file.
Your call, I had Tiny Core work on everything I tried it on! But depending on your knowledge/determination the distance may vary
I'm not so sure i was correct. When i tried 3.1 it was with a FlashDrive formatted to EXT4 and it worked without any errors yet i've just tried 3.2 on a fresh install of Ubuntu 17.10 and it's back to the errors that the drive was not shutdown cleanly and the image it creates is corrupt. I need to make another 3.1 PE disk and try it on Ubuntu 17.10 to see if it was a Fluke working on the flashdrive? The relase notes for 3.2 say Support for CentOS 7.3 (ext4) operating system is added. Is CentOS EXT4 any different to other linux installs?
Ext4 support is as buggy as hell. 3.1 and 3.2 refuse to work on anything Ubuntu 17.10 based and you just keep getting message about the drive not being unmounted cleanly even if you run a full fsck. 3.2 on Solus OS seemed to work perfectly without any issues until after the image file is created , if you run a image check it says it's corrupt. Sigh!
Well 3.2 works perfectly with the latest version of Mint 18.2 which is based on the long term support release of Ubuntu. /me shrugs
