hi guys, Current System. x5000+ @ 3.2 OCZ 4 gig ddr2 800 DFI DK M2rs 790GX BFG Ati 4890 BE 1000/1000 Im thinking of upgrading my CPU as others has told me that it will be a bottleneck on my system. i will be upgrading to 1066mhz ddr2 as soon as i get a new cpu as the newer amd cpu's support 1066mhz ram. The board can support the latest phenom II processors, so im thinking of getting a 720BE or a 955BE. price performance would be my best bet i think but wanted the view of others of best chip to get, and if this is a bottleneck for me
what do you want this for, gaming? is this for the short term to hold you over till you build the system you want? if this is a hold you over or for gaming get something like a 550 black edition @ 3.1, it's cheaper than a 720 @ 2.8GHz and faster. clock speed is still king when it comes to gaming, not the number of cores if this is an upgrade that is going to last you a while the 955 black edition @ 3.2GHz is a good long term choice for a cpu
