So you would rather steal someone else's hard work and say it is your work then give credited where it belongs. Just use the patch and say thank you to the person or persons that made it. And if you are so smart to disassemble and copy, then why dont you look for how to remove it.
Really....I have been hacking for years now...From when BBS where the thing and getting into very hard computer networks and software. So dont tell me about patching and hacking. been there and done that a very long time. I been trying to come up with a hack for Windows 8 RTM, even to the point of using one of my MAK keys to where it is now blocked. So try again.

Im sure you already know this Mr J, but the install files that control the theme in Vista and 7 are spwizimg.dll and imageres.dll, and you may also (not really sure) need a hacked uxtheme.dll. You may or may not want to start there. MDL member Livefreeordie may or may not know the answer, he was the one that successfully modded those files in the past that i have seen. PS, ive respected any work you have contributed in the past. Keep on keeping on.
50 MB of new start / metro UI PNG's in imageres, but none of them seemed to be the culrpit. Guess I gotta search for text strings matching the phrases displayed on-screen. If appx is mostly java/html markup, maybe stannieman is onto something, they could control all that with html color codes. Was unable to get Shift F10 in a Virtual Box, did get the Alt-F4 to kill it. Had a little xp outlook style prep window running underneath, ran in under a minute. Much quicker to the desktop.
Im pretty sure Server 2012 doesn't have the annoying part. Maybe switch some files from the Server install.wim with the Pro wim?
