Why medicines don't do as much good as you'd think:

    4) Most people forget to take their pills.
    5) Doctors only prescribe medicines after the attack of viruses and bacteria. Also, they only extract bullets after the patient has been shot.
    6) ...

Therefore, doctors are not needed: we just need to avoid spoiled food and dangerous places.

Well the problem is that most virusses and malware infections are driveby downloads on infected sites, iframes, advertisements (malvertisements) or fake download buttons(also advertisements).
Those use bugs/0-Days in like adobe flash/java/anything. So virus/malware scanners allways have to act after the incident and usualy do not detect the virus yet.
So the best is to block the virus at the source of infection. This would be the browser.
You can simply prevent this by using addons like Ghostery, uBlock, Ad Block Plus, NoScript, etc.
This will prevent ads/malvertisements from being loaded. NoScript will block any script/iframe/file from a different source from automaticly loading.
You still need a virus scanner/malware scanner to scan proactive. And use a healty mind and dont click on anything you dont trust.
This is the way i work and i havent had any virus infection in years. You hear often of hacked advertisement sites that are distributing malware on populair news sites. And this will prevent your PC from getting infected. Also webpages are being loaded alot quicker because 70% of the webtraffic you are loading on a news/any populair site that is using advertisements are being blocked.

I've done Defender vs MSE vs Bitdefender IS 2015 virus signatures and real time protection tests comparison on fresh Win7 installation for graduate work purposes 6 months ago. It's better to do no use any AV instead of using MS tools ;)

The best one out there is ....Common Sense.

I haven't run an AV for 8 years no issues at all, but i run it on my kids PCs.

Win10 system check verified ESET Security Suite 8 is compatible, so later versions will be also.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 + Malwarebytes :clap:If you're a heavy downloader and you are not afraid to click unknown links. Also install adblock plus in your browser.

Yeah the best suite for Windows 10 is Kaspersky Internet Security 2016, which currently completely freezes your Start Menu. ;)
