My friend is using KIS 2015 in his win10 pc. He said it is fast and works good but there are some limited functions as of now. Maybe 2015 version will get updated more. KIS 2016 is fully compatible with win10 and it doesn't have limited functionality like 2015. I haven't really tried it but I read on some forums that KIS 2016 is the best security suite for win10. So I don't know about any start menu freezes but if that's the case then Kaspersky will surely update it soon.
I've upgraded my ESET from 8.0.312.3 to 8.0.319.0 & have had no issues for the last week. It's better to be running some type of AV then running with nothing...
The best antivirus is you know where you click and what you do afterward comes the software part. I even have some VM without antivirus and everything works fine.
For 2 years I use KIS with great satisfaction. Change from Win 8.1 to Win 10. Download the latest version (2015.0.2.361 C), but the installation was not possible due to non-compliance with Win 10. Several unsuccessful attempts. After the update of Win 10, miracle, install Kaspersky became possible. Since, antivirus and OS work wonderfully.
+And sometimes I check my mind with an updated Malware-bytes scan to be sure, all is clean. Human thought is the fastest speed in the universe.
Listen. When you have to fix something like 400 PCs per year, for more than a decade, you have more than a clue about what works best, no matter if your conspiracy theory is good or not, no matter of what the AV ranking are sayng, no matter of wath the smart alecks are writing on forums. There isn't any perfect AV, although NOD32 once was close to the definition, but surely there are good AV and crap resource hogs.
I'll find you more of these funny theories. As long as I do not have to sell this crap, I'm really fine and all my friends and even "clients" all are fine without that sh!t. Best is that my income is generated elsewhere ... lol
no, it only costs me a lot of money hosting that sh!t for some clowns in several forums, not to mention these countless hours to make these files available and not to mention paying for a MSDN sub to be able to d/l that stuff. Guess you are not aware upon the volume of that measure
A friend of mine bought his computer with a protection plan from the Geek Squad. He was taking his box back every couple of months or so to be wiped of malware (popups, etc.) Eventually I convinced him to bring it to me. I took off the anti-virus he was running, and wiped it clean with Malwarebytes. I installed the premium version for him, made sure Windows Defender was up and running, and gave him a lecture on proper safety protocol. He hasn't had an issue since.
