Why do you recommend that kind of things? Using such an antique is quite dangerous. Is this your goal to damage other people's computers and personal files? Recommending such an antique is not only malicious, but downright criminal. Do you even know how old it is? After that, there has been O&O Defrag 26, which is also history for a long time, and soon the current O&O Defrag 27 will also become obsolete.
Stop over reacting. That software's digital signature shows October 2022 which is not that old. Anyway it is just defrag app from well known software company. Won't steal your bank nor your GF.
There is no rule that you always use latest version. Many people stick with old versions that are working good for them.
I find this defrag software's not useful these days at all where everyone has SSD, and you should never defrag SSD so what is the point of having defrag software ... ?
Kinda agree, defrag an SSD is a general no-no. Unless you really wan't to wear out the cells. There's no latency getting data between cells on SSD as it would be with traditional HDD with sector's and track's and data spread all over with a mechanical drive head and spin up and what not... Good times though. In fact, array raid configurations was/is the goto with traditional HDD for high performance, SSD not so much.
@Dark Dinosaur and @Sajjo Most of these software packages (including the built-in Windows tool) can detect SSDs and switch to TRIM-only mode on the fly. Since the driver (whether it's the Microsoft one or the OEM provided release) and the controller can take care of trimming nowadays, the apps merely act as a fancy UI to jumpstart the operation (by bypassing the OS-specific settings) and/or scheduling periodic TRIM jobs. With that said, the term "defragment" is more of a well-known marketing expression for the vendors as well as consumers, so they don't want to drop it.
