I think you guys have confused Windows AIO's with modified Windows ISO's. Now I suppose I should help in explaining why there is a difference. The entire Windows Install is stored on a packaged Windows Image file called a "WIM". This houses the entire Windows Install apart from the information entered on the install such as the user name which goes into the APPDATA folder. Now Windows All in 1 images DO NOT modify these images in any sort of way they simply combine them leaving them still untouched. At this point there are only 3 modified WIM's on the internet so I very much doubt there is any founded reason for no posting of AIOs. Lets face it there are only a small amount of people who actually need the original MSDN ISO's as not many people make AIOs which is why they are out there.
@Smorgan Well... long-debated topic. Actually we never know the creator of those home-made ISOs. Maybe the creator is telling the truth; maybe he/she only combined the wims - but most of the cases the person doesn't post any hash or creation log (what is added/removed/enhanced). So that novice users are getting confused. On the other hand, one can easily find the hashes of official MSDN ISOs. Again we already have many members who enrich this forum by their valuable guides & how-tos. This not a wiki.. its a forum. People should read, interact & learn. Just download the official ISO, learn to manipulate it, customize it as you want - complete freedom!! Also, number of download options should be minimized so that new users don't get confused (e.g now everyone can make personal KMS server for activating Windows but novice users are lost in the crowd). Lastly you don't have to wait for the 'creator' to update/support his/her release; just get them from a central location. Just my two cents..
Guess its different for me as I know the person who creates the AIO's. I also have the official ISOs as I like customizing the WIM even though its a total pain to do so since you have to test each copy you make to see if the setup likes what you did.
Something for the Windows Activation section. Windows 8 Represents an incremental update from the Windows 7 Activation system with added capabilities to include online purchasing of the Operating system inside of the OS. It also represents the seamless integration of Office 2013 licensing and Windows 8 Licensing to consolidate licensing under a smaller amount of files. Added improvements include integration into the Metro components as well. Thats all I wanna add at this point.
Can I use my legal bought Windows 8 Pro license (Upgrade) with these iso-files? I wonder because the download iso option from windows8-upgrade.exe keeps giving me errors.
You see, the problem in this vast thing called Internet is: Who can you trust? Sure, you know that you used unmodified MSDN ISOs as the basis for your modifications. The problem is, you can't transfer that "trust" to others. To others, you are a tiny voice in an ocean of people trying to get people to install their binaries. The only thing a user can trust is going to microsoft.com and verifying SHA1 hashes. Especially for something important as an OS, that's the only way one should be taking. So while the intentions may be good, custom ISOs should be avoided by people who didn't make them. If you want to help, post a guide how to repeat your modifications using no foreign binaries.
The RTM contains both Core AND Pro version. It's depend on the Key you use which one will be activated! No. 1 and 3 of the list you posted are also the Pro!
Point Taken but its like relying on a Scene group for material trust is easy to find but going out of your way to find the Modified ISO's which contain on the copies is but your choice to make. You could have around 10 MS verified ISO's which have all the unmodified untouched copies of Windows 8 on them including the various Server copies / Embedded copies. Or take the time to simply find an AIO which has all of them packed into one ISO or as few images as possible. The choice is but up to you as personal preference is always I choose to have both the verified ISO's and the Custom AIO's on archive. Reason being so I can easily unpack a unmodified copy and tinker with it if I get too bored. Side note are we only talking about verified / unmodified / clean copies of Windows 8. I mean that kinda narrows the focus of Windows 8 copies down a tiny bit as the "official" ISO's are not the only copies out there. In My opinion (prepare to walk off a cliff and get beaten senseless on speaking your mind) keeping AIO's at a lower standard then MSDN ISO's is a mistake they are equal in quality (O did I just say that why yes... yes i did).
Hi all I downloaded the 32 and 64 bit iso's from the links on the first page. Install in virtualbox straight from the iso's. Got to the part of the install routine where it needed a key. None of the three keys worked with either of the two iso's? Ta deepee
what are the name of the iso's... if u have downloaded enterprise evaluation iso's none of those iso's will work... confirm and report back
