All good! Tried again using the virtual keyboard that present in the install routine and it worked. Although everything looked o.k. with the keys I typed from the host keyboard to the virutal machine, there must have been some kind of character code misinterpretation or extra spacing I missed.
Man, Windows 8 installs and sets up very fast. The UI is a bit to get used to, but Classic shell helps out by bringing back the start menu. I personally got my ISOs through MSDN, but haven't activated them yet because of poor video playback and driver issues with my laptop. Have any of you experienced problems with flash video playback on Radeon graphics cards or AMD APU chips?
So en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso is the final release of 8 pro, or is there another step to go from RT to Pro? I have a Pro Key from my uni's Dreamspark account, I just need a disk image.
It is not the final version of just pro but of Windows 8. RT is a totally different platform used on ARM based machines. To find an image, use search or go to page 1 of this thread and have fun. Btw, your dreamspark account lets you download an iso at their homepage
Noop, Intel's latest driver complies with WDDM 1.1. 8 requires WDDM 1.2, but backward compatible. Intel has officially stopped supporting that video card for Windows 8. Thus you have to use the latest Windows 7 driver to enable OpenGL & other settings.
On page 1....It doesn't specify if this is Core or the pro version?????? Which is it? Where can I get the Core one as I never see it anywhere? Thanks.
Core and Professional are parts of the same ISO, depends on the key or ei.cfg which version is installed .
