Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but.... downgrading. How easy is it to downgrade from Windows 8 RTM to the previous Windows 7 installation?
Very informative thread. does anybody know how long you can use the RTM versions if a fix isnt found? like default time usage?thanks
If you install Windows 8 using one of the volume licenses (to install, not to activate), then you can use Windows 8 unactivated forever and with all of the features. However, you will have an activation watermark that appears every few hours and be unable to change certain appearance settings. You can get rid of the watermark using, for example, Woot332's Patched Watermark Remover.
I installed Code: MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.8.ENTERPRISE.RTM.X86.VOLUME.ENGLISH.DVD-WZT are you saying that applys to that version??.if so that may explain why it says "windows is not activated"
Instead of an activation watermark that appears every few hours, I have got a permanent 'windows is not activated' watermark that stays there 24x7. Any clues as to what is wrong?
I read every post on this thread and followed most of its contents and I now have a great windows enterprise without watermark etc... and yes with a start menu. So A great thanks to you all people. you made me happy
I have access to MS Partner Downloads for Win8 Professional and Win8 Professional N, both 32 and 64 bit. 37 language iso-s for Professional h--p://s15.postimage.org/575inov7f/lang1.png h--p://s15.postimage.org/pskaflcsb/lang2.png and 25 language iso-s for Professional N h--p://s15.postimage.org/qjd0ldf5n/lang_n_1.png h--p://s15.postimage.org/7fjp512bf/lang_n_2.png Interesting that for N version it says "product key not required" and below says that "contact for a product key" h--p://s15.postimage.org/98r773cvv/lang_n_3.png I didn't downloaded N version to try but started downloading english 64bit N now and i can make a torrent if someone is interested. Maybe product key is not required for installation but for activate... Will it worth the time and trouble to try??? Sorry for pictures - i cannot post link (yet). Upo Edit: Torrent is ready. Bit slow but i will seed it long enough.

One is retail version (activation with retail key) - second is VL version (activation with MAK or KMS).
