Huh ... not that difficult to figure out. The little 'quote bubble with +' button bottom-right of each post, check all the posts you want to quote and press the 'Reply to Thread' button.
We all have choices, yes - but there is an underlying principle of explicit approval of what is shared though... Anyway you may be giving them a little too much credit.... e.g. regarding the start menu thay said this.. Why then the about turn?... incessant "whining" on forums such as this, I'd say - rather than telemetry - which they will use only to further their own needs... not necesarily those of their customers.
Our choices are usually different to say the least. This is a Windows 10 Technical Preview we are talking about here not something of a final product. Let's be sincere with ourselves for once. Has it occurred to us that we really demanded for the Start Menu to be returned in the first place? It is like we are using Microsoft to play around if we have to go by statement from that your quote on UK's PC Pro. I am not trying to exaggerate anything about the Start Menu than pointing to example on how this feedback information is useful to Microsoft to better serve the consumers. This is a 'Windows 10 Technical Preview' for goodness sake.
I support this keylogger story. The bigger story it becomes, the more companies and countries threaten to avoid buying the software if it is included. They *should* be just as outraged by the cloud usage, but I'll take what I can get. I do not want to cause MS financial problems, but rather help them fix their unsecure OS problem. Can anyone honestly say that a Cloud server is truly secure?
When I Started in the computer business, about 15 years ago, the first true sense of security I had was shattered when I heard the phrase. ''If it can be coded, it can be decoded'' So , I had 2 choices, either go completely paranoid and never use the internet, or use what I trust the most and help to make it better. Guess which I chose?
I'm not afraid of them abusing the cloud; I just know they're going to, and I don't like it. The problem is that the general public is naive and don't understand that simply locking something with a key does not make it secure. Lots of people can pick locks, and if your goods are highly valuable, you will attract lockpickers.
i beg to differ. MS as well as anyone of us have the right to do whatever we want until the various courts say different. sad but true. the only difference being is that MS has a lot more money to pay any penalties.
A locked door only keeps out the honest people. A thief while break a window to enter. A home invader will knock on your door. A 'security' service will just batter the door down.
The (conscious) users are involved in a war against governments the big companies, the intelligence services and so on, a war that is likely already lost, given most of the people not even know there is a war, somewhere. But an inconditionate surrender is not the best way to deal with it, some battles can still be won.
That got me curious. Link to that thread, please? After reading this thread I've come to a conclusion on W10TP: It's like having a blackbox with a wifi embedded deeply inside your rental car and the owner knows what you do with it.
You should have use the right words: Code: MS as well as anyone of could to do whatever we want until the various courts say different. sad but true. the only difference being is that MS has a lot more money to pay any penalties You don't have the Right but you could and many would do what ever they want! And that's a huge difference.
Dear Microsoft, Thank you for allowing me to participate in the "Insider Program", I updated my 8.1 Enterprise OS, D:\ drive, to the Technical Preview. I left the Win 8.1 Pro OS alone on C:\ drive, and find I rarely boot to it anymore. I like it when a little thingy pops up and asks me "How blah, blah, blah, went", I like that I can submit my ideas for consideration. I find I am liking he new START MENU very much. I do feel left out in this thread because my skill set falls in the "fun loving wise azz" area way more than computers. After reading the all the bitchy/moany/paranoid/blah/blah/blah comments from the "computer people", I'll stick to enjoying my computer and the "wise azz fun loving stuff", I'm old, I don't want to waste the time I have left being paranoid/unhappy/and in constant need of a tampon. As far as all the "mining" stuff you are taking from my computer, fact is my 4 ex-wives got all the good stuff already. You are more than welcome to my passwords to the porn sites and even my banking info. After you check my banking situation you'll see what is left after the multi-divorce life style I have lead. Feel free to make a deposit, according to these people, especially, the immature ones who refer to you as M$, you could afford to give me a buck or two... One last thing, maybe you could contact/hire some of these wiz-kids, they sure think they know an awful lot about an awful lot. I wonder why they don't come up with their own OS... Respectfully Submitted, bchat ex-husband x 4 ex-Correction Officer current fun loving wise azz.
so. the old walrus does not like it a bit. keylogging, for petes sake! whatever next? so am i ranting?? ohnoo... so i did not install w8. nor w9 or w 10. or wi11.. ever. i will forever refuse to use linux too.. i have seen enough system crashes.. the thought that if m$ [ yes the m$ is deliberate, ] puts this stuff in the eula makes it legitimate, is over naive.. of course noone reads that.. until it is too late.. and they know it.. so the call for disabling this w10 is painful to me.. we could expect some kb-something doing that, maybe.. well, life is short. to do this is no minefield i care to take a walk in. i will loose my legs if i am lucky.. like yen said, there are no winners in this game. which leaves me wondering if we want to live with such òperating systems`at all. well, not me.... count me out..
