People forget that the file is consultet for each and every net contact of the system. Long hosts file can become a PITA due to a huge slowdown.
I wasn't able to figure out the services. Since they were deleted they are irreversible meaning I can't put them back. You tried the sfc and Dism commands and they didn't replace them as well. Sorry for the inconvenience but your best to get that stuff back is to perform a system restore or in place upgrade with your media. really sorry about that folks... Edit: wait good news!!! I have the files for the diagnostics services, etc but I don't know how to register them in windows! Any help please please thanks
You mean those services: Check: Code: sc query dmwappushservice sc query diagtrack Delete: Code: sc delete dmwappushservice sc delete diagtrack To install a service 'sc create' must be used. Code: sc create ServiceName binPath= "%windir%\system32\ServiceName.exe" type= own error= normal obj= "NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService" start= auto DisplayName= ServiceName
Off topic apologize but why is it that everybody start making telemetry thread right after this one. There have been like almost 10 of them already
Jumping on the bandwagon to cash in - Like that DoNotSpy app that includes OpenCandy. Keep up your good work
Thank you for the support Appreciate it -------------------- Update: Added new script to get back services. Page 11 has the post with details
Nobody else had a telemetry thread except for one guy who posted before me and I didn't catch him I wanted to help everyone so I created this thread... And that second quote. It takes one click of a button to remove it ... Is that what you call ridiculous @cengizhan
Just let it run . Happens from time to time. The mods will intervent if they think it's needed. We'll see who's the finicky one here. Starting a thread is pretty easy, question is which one will stay up-to-date over the time. No-one needs a thread with info from last year for an OS just released.
