I was downloading the Core/Pro N x64, and it was going horribly slow. Then at almost 90% it suddenly stopped and I checked the trackers and there are none. Can I get the tracker link?
I have some simple related questions, most of the conversations where old on this, Does the VL version of Enterprise out or no ? Does anybody have the link to download the ISO?, I have the 8 version already activated and looking for the news on 8.1, I have backed up my activation, do you think could it be useful if I bring it back in a not VL version (enterprise) ?

Hello ms-7, I downloaded Windows 8.1 core/pro, and when i installed it required serial key and registration during a installation. Is it normal ? Thanks.
I guess by ''registration'' he means the MS account one. Just enter syntactically correct, but invalid information, the Setup will allow creating a local account, then.
So, If I'm understanding correctly - Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Pro VL are basically the same in the end if using KMS?
yup, the biggest difference is with a VL edition, you do not need to input an install key to install.
Hey all, Sorry to be a pain, but I have a question concerning Windows 8. Does the VL (Volume Licensing version) not have Windows Media Center? I ask because I looked at the FAQ on the very first post of this thread. It reads... "What's the Difference Between VL and Retail ? A. See here for comprehensive detail, some major points are VL can be activated by KMS whereas Retail can't. Pro VL has no ability to upgrade to ProWMC whereas Retail Pro can. Retail edition can easily be converted to VL by inserting (valid) KMS Key." I'm not exactly sure how to take that. If I want Windows Media Center, then it sounds like I need Retail and not VL??? I have so much to learn! I basically want Windows 8.1 64 bit with Windows Media Center. I'm not sure what version that would be and what activation route I would need to take. Thanks!
Yes, VL-activated 8.1 builds cannot use Add Features. Two things can happen: 1. If the ISO/media you installed from was the regular, non-VL type, you will get an error message. 2. If you installed using the special Pro VL ISO/media, there isn't any "Add Features" line at all.
Nearly correct...you can install but not activate afterwards . Edit: On non-VL installs, that are VL activated.
Nope, on 8.1 (not 8.0) you'll downright receive an error message ("You cannot add features to this installation of Windows" or the like). 8.0 did let you proceed, just doesn't activate.
