I wonder... are those Surface RT drivers in the package pulled from the Preview build? In other words, they're not final drivers, correct?

 

is there a magnet coming for the drivers or is the folder included in the first WINDOWS RT 8.1 WITH OFFICE 2013 RT image?

Windows 8.1 was Preview, that does not mean that the drivers were too, they may be perfectly good drivers! I guessed right when I said we would have to integrate the drivers into the WIM! All in all, it's not hard at all.

 

It's still downloading metadata so I can't tell, but it seems like your second hypothesis is the most probable, given that also the language packs are just multiple files and not a unique ISO containing them all.

 

Now stop right here. Before you break something!

My driver pack that I prepared just in case (originating from Windows RT 8.1 Preview) is 30 MB in size. This WZor pack maybe has some of the drivers on RTM version, but they are not all the drivers for sure.

To get the drivers from the running system:

Code:

dism /Online /Get-Drivers /Format:table

To get driver location information on each of the driver:

Code:

dism /Online /Get-DriverInfo /Driver:published_name.inf // (e.g. oem50.inf)

Go to the location specified for that driver. Copy all of the driver files to a folder.
Repeat the steps FOR EACH OF THE DRIVERS FROM THE TABLE

Ensure that at the end (in the case of Surface RT) you have a driver pack as following:

HID Class Trackpad Settings (bootcritical)
Marvell AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio (bootcritical)
Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-N Network Controller (SDIO) (nonbootcritical but needed for wifi)

NVIDIA Power Management Controller (bootcritical)
NVIDIA Secure Channel (bootcritical)
NVIDIA Secure Engine Controller (bootcritical)

NVIDIA Tegra Display (nonbootcritical but required as display [otherwise you stucking with VGA driver])
NVIDIA Tegra DMA Hal Extension (bootcritical)
NVIDIA Tegra Memory Controller (bootcritical)
NVIDIA Tegra Timers Hal Extension (bootcritical)
NVIDIA Tegra Wave Device (nonbootcritical but required for sound)
Printer XPS (nonbootcritical, but needed for the XPS Viewer)

WIM has to be copied to HDD first to allow writing

Predeploy using

dism /image:c:\path\to\moutpoint /Add-Driver /Driver:path\to\needed\driver\drivername.inf

Do this for each of the drivers. To avoid prblems DO NOT add recursively using /Recurse parameter.

Commit:

dism /Unmount-Wim /MountDir:c:\path\to\mountpoint /Commit

Well, it depends on the strength of the compression he used on the ZIP file, drivers can get a lot smaller once compressed. Plus, I'm certain WZOR is careful enough to have successfully tried his way before releasing it.

However, I'll be glad to say "you were right" if my surface ends up being a paperweight!

In the past the leaks had several seeders to start with (the WZT release group?) I wonder why there's only one now...

 

I think he's still debating on whether or not he really wants this out in the wild, if too many people ask silly questions, he doesn't have to leak

i have the us-en single language 64 bit iso but the cd keys i have dont seem to work on install can someone send me one that will.
just to be clear im after the install key not a geniune one for after install
