Realistically speaking, unless it is absolutely and most definitely positively necessary to use Windows 8 x86, you should use Windows 8 x64. The main reason is if you don't have an x64 processor that supports PrefetchW (quite old x64 CPU's don't), or that you don't have an x86 processor at all. The other reason is if you have 3GB or less physical RAM, but if you have only 2GB of RAM or less then you should consider upgrading first anyway.
