Nothing of the sort I've done plenty of windows xp repairs, but you should really use version of windows that is currently installed i,e, . When working on someone else's machine 9 time out 10 they never have windows disk a backup or half the software if any that they have installed on their machine. It is different if you are working on your own computer you can just scrub that and start a fresh. Mind you if you were to take it to a computer shop they would just install the OS + drivers and let you get on with it :D

gentlemen I have met the enemy and I am theirs! I give up. after the "repair" I installed sp2. when I rebooted explorer did not work and neither did any of my usb ports. So i was up the creek w/o a paddle. I could not get on the web and all my utilities are on usb flash drives. Would have been nice to see if "we" could have gotten it done.

So I installed my winpro vlk slipstreamed with drivers disk good up till 7/12/12. there were no critical updates to do and xp is genuine without even using the changer. I load it and 1 hr later she's all done. now the slighly daunting task of getting his data and personal programs installed. I'm actually almost finished. I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to my problem. I belong to many different forums but MDL is the best. semper fidelis! Regards...

To remove ANTIWPA you need to remove a few things.

You may need to run a batch as this:

then remove this reg entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\Antiwpa

There is a Antiwpa3_readme.txt in OEMBIOS changer\Activation check and Serial tools folder .
also Antiwpa3 should have uninstalled when it was ran again there is uninstall routine in the .cmd file

    Code:
    :uninstall
    cls
    echo.
    echo.
    echo.
echo ******** AntiWPA3 Patch is already installed *******
    echo.
            echo.
            echo.
            echo.
    set /P answ=" Do you want to uninstall AntiWPA3 patch?(y/n) "
    if /I %answ% == y goto remove
    if /I %answ% NEQ y goto end
    goto uninstall

I added that to the last couple of versions that actually had the antiwpa in it. If he had an older version, it wouldnt have an uninstall routine. Either way, it is rather easy to uninstall.

Hey sebus, I did read the readme files and worked on this for 2 days before I pm'd you and medic. I certainly am not lazy in that regard and consider it a challenge to try and repair or make something better. I am not a programmer in the least bit, I admit that. Apparently I have an older version of antiwpa3 because there isn't an uninstall routine. My way of doing it was to search for freewat.dll, antiwat.dll on the "c" drive and delete those files. (it never found any). Then go to the registry and delete any signs of antiwat, antiwpa statements. it found about 6 of them. So being a non-programmer that is the way I did it.

After medic posted the batch file, I ran that and it did not find any antiwat, wpa files. Apparently after doing a winxp repair it screwed up the usb ports and IE8. so I gave up and did a brand new install which is usually the best course to take. As I said I have a disk that sets up winxp in 1 hr with no oembios sets to change and no drivers or critical updates to do. EASY PEASY!! My goal was to try and repair a system with corrupted activation files and to learn how to use the Tattoo cd which I did. It was a learning experience. Regards...

See post # 483, 2 pages before your post.
I just downloaded it and gave a 'Thanks' so it's still there as of this moment, without having to install any spam^H^H^H^Hdownload manager.

I successfully downloaded 3 or 4 BIOS from that link with Firefox without having a skydrive account. Maybe it's a problem with your ISP, country or browser...
