Yes different these are files that are needed to activate XP by OEM:SLP 1.0 method the files have manufacturer name in the that match manufacturer name in DMI area of bios.

Uncompress them yourself... (expand oembios.bi_ oembios.bin etc)

I have Dell Windows XP Pro SP3 DVD I want convert to SLP.

I've already done the following but still it doesn't activate. Wondering where I might be going wrong.

    1. I made the OEMBIOSDVD and booted the PC with it. It came upwith GENIUNE C&C. CRC 8B2EBECB

    2. So I went to the skydrive posted here and downloaded the compressed 8B2EBECB and all the DELL files also.

    3. I used nLite 1.4.9.1 and extracted my Dell Windows XP Pro DVD to a folder on my drive.

    3. Then I downloaded WINXP_MULTIOEMv2.1_by_sushil1576 and followed the tutorial on where to put the files. Then put the OEM folder in the root of the extracted Dell XP ISO folder nLite made. I also put the WINNT.sif file in the i386 folder.

    5. Next I ran nLite and integrated all my drivers and made a Bootable DVD.

    6. When the installation is running it shows OEMBIOS doing activation with SLP and says successful for everything, but once Windows is to the Desktop the Activation still comes up.

The only thing I can think is I've miss stepped doing something and do not understand the tutorial correctly.

Use any ISO editing software, like UltraISO.

Make an iso image of the Dell disc.

Just replace the four compressed oembios files in the i386 folder of the iso with the Genuine one.

Save the iso. Burn it or make a bootable pen drive & boot from it ~ done!!

if you already have a Dell OEM disc, that is SLP... there's no reason to modify it and make another if you are installing it on the same pc or a pc with that uses the same oembios files. makes no sense what you're trying to do...

Well it came with the computer but it doesn't activate. So I assume this Dell either had hardware changed or the OEM DVD with it doesn't originally come with the computer.

I know it doesn't seem like I should need to touch the OEM DVD but it doesn't activate like it should automaticly using SLP.

The Geniune C&C CRC 8B2EBECB Bios leds me to believe that the mother board is not the original and why the SLP activation doesn't work.

So my idea was to update an image of my OEM DVD so it would.

Try the changer. Next step is to insert SLP string to bios, at this point, any will do. If you want to use the dmi disc, HP will work. The mainboard is not DELL from the looks of it anyway..

@ 0utcast if you used Dell OEM:SLP cd even replacing the the oembios files would not work because dell OEM:SLP key would be in winnt.sif file.

    OEM:SLP keys aren't brand specific ;)
