thx, but i get this error CAT file currupt: C:\Users\All Users\Desktop\WORTMANN\OEMBIOS.CAT Can you look if you have a replacement? [edit] Strange after decompressing it seems good Code: [MANUFACTURER] WORTMANN [CRC32 HASHES] OEMBIOS.BIN 8D4612F0 OEMBIOS.CAT 515F564A OEMBIOS.DAT 2372D625 OEMBIOS.SIG CE82FDB6 [SLP STRINGS] e000,0000,ffff,wortmann f000,0000,ffff,wortmann
@crypto, did you notice anything strange about this last set? did you verify them? it is missing the platform where it is for, eg: WIN_XP Dunno if this causes any trouble... will test it on a VM tonight
I had no problems whatsoever. No errors opening the zip file, no errors unpacking the zip file, no errors decompressing the OEMBIOS files and all decompressed files were successfully verified. Regarding the missing platform ID, there are many OEMBIOS sets that don't have it. The reason is because if it's absent, then it automatically defaults to WinXP. The whitepaper explains: Code: The OEMBIOS.ini file contains the following: A [Version] section, which specifies the target platform for which the OEMBIOS.ini file is submitted. The syntax is: [Version] PlatformID = ID Where ID is either WinXP or WINDOWS_SERVER_2003 Note: If there is no [Version] section in OEMBIOS.ini or the PlatformID entry is not specified, then by default PlatformID = WinXP. If an invalid PlatformID is specified, an appropriate error will be reported.
Yes, i just checked (to be sure) on a VM, it validated/activated just fine Code: Diagnostic Report (1.9.0011.0): ----------------------------------------- WGA Data--> Validation Status: Genuine Validation Code: 0 Cached Validation Code: N/A Windows Product Key: *****-*****-36J2P-HT3T3-QPMFB Windows Product Key Hash: +NNF346DA3Rr/gGjXZtwAv8AQuM= Windows Product ID: 76395-OEM-2111907-00100 Windows Product ID Type: 2 Windows License Type: OEM SLP Windows OS version: 5.1.2600.2.00010300.3.0.hom ID: {141EBEB3-EC98-45CB-9776-11FCA0E08790}(3) Is Admin: Yes TestCab: 0x0 WGA Version: Registered, 1.9.9.1 Signed By: Microsoft Product Name: N/A Architecture: N/A Build lab: N/A TTS Error: N/A Validation Diagnostic: 025D1FF3-230-1 Resolution Status: N/A WgaER Data--> ThreatID(s): N/A Version: N/A WGA Notifications Data--> Cached Result: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 File Exists: No Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 WgaTray.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 WgaLogon.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGA Notifications Data--> Cached Result: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGAExec.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGAAddin.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGA Data--> Office Status: 109 N/A OGA Version: N/A, 0x80070002 Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Office Diagnostics: B4D0AA8B-543-80070002_025D1FF3-230-1 Browser Data--> Proxy settings: N/A User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Win32) Default Browser: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe Download signed ActiveX controls: Prompt Download unsigned ActiveX controls: Disabled Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins: Allowed Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe: Disabled Allow scripting of Internet Explorer Webbrowser control: Disabled Active scripting: Allowed Script ActiveX controls marked as safe for scripting: Allowed File Scan Data--> Other data--> Office Details: <GenuineResults><MachineData><UGUID>{141EBEB3-EC98-45CB-9776-11FCA0E08790}</UGUID><Version>1.9.0011.0</Version><OS>5.1.2600.2.00010300.3.0.hom</OS><Architecture>x32</Architecture><PKey>*****-*****-*****-*****-QPMFB</PKey><PID>76395-OEM-2111907-00100</PID><PIDType>2</PIDType><SID>S-1-5-21-1123561945-813497703-1708537768</SID><SYSTEM><Manufacturer>1.2M</Manufacturer><Model>WORTMANN</Model></SYSTEM><BIOS><Manufacturer>WORTMANN</Manufacturer><Version>A69</Version><SMBIOSVersion major="2" minor="5"/><Date>20061201000000.000000+000</Date><SLPBIOS>wortmann,wortmann</SLPBIOS></BIOS><HWID>13A436070184005B</HWID><UserLCID>0413</UserLCID><SystemLCID>0413</SystemLCID><TimeZone>West-Europa (standaardtijd)(GMT+01:00)</TimeZone><iJoin>0</iJoin><SBID><stat>3</stat><msppid></msppid><name></name><model></model></SBID><OEM/><GANotification/></MachineData><Software><Office><Result>109</Result><Products/><Applications/></Office></Software></GenuineResults> Licensing Data--> N/A HWID Data--> N/A OEM Activation 1.0 Data--> BIOS string matches: yes Marker string from BIOS: 105C:Microsoft Corporation|1014:WORTMANN AG Marker string from OEMBIOS.DAT: wortmann, wortmann OEM Activation 2.0 Data--> N/A
If you know better...why do you ask? The program says to use Matsus**ta, so use Matsus**ta !!! The program says: Lines Starting with E: are not reliably detected under windows so you need the ones starting with F: Hitachi is a no go (Probably HardDisk?)
thank you for the support, unfortunately, are a little beast with computer! The strange thing is that I do not have devices in your notebook with the letter F:, which the Matsus**ta has the letter E:, while the Hitachi hard disk is divided into C: and D: I asked this question because I wanted to become part of an OEM disk for my notebook using your fantastic and wonderful guides, but I had some doubts. If you tell me to use the archives calmly OEMBIOS Matsus**ta I will do so, and then you'll know. Amen.
Well FreeStyler that is the fist time i have actually heard explanation for E: F: e.c.t so you are saying oembios.exe is checking hard ware from registry also, Had this discussion a few weeks back one member said rather than flashing bios or using say dmi boot cd he said he just add a say hitachi hard drive i know certain things are tied to manufacturers i.e.branded. Just my ignorance , good to know.
If you run that tool under pure DOS most likely will only detect Matsus**ta in above case... Windows does something fishy, and stores manufacturer info from for example a harddrive in the same memory space
here are oembios files from a systemax pc manufactured in mid-2007: (hexcmp reports that these oembios files are very different than the systemax 9509CAD5 ones posted earlier in this thread)
Thx, a first glance at these 2 Systemax sets tells me we need both sets in the archive as both sets hold a few unique strings not availble in the other Code: [MANUFACTURER] SYSTEMAX [CRC32 HASHES] OEMBIOS.BIN B4AD3A8F OEMBIOS.CAT 0378CC4E OEMBIOS.DAT AF7CEF0E OEMBIOS.SIG 45D07166 [SLP STRINGS] E05F,0059,,SNC302EEH E061,0059,,SNC302EEH E35B,0264,,SNC302EEH E35F,0199,,SNC302EEH E361,019B,,SNC302EEH E3E1,01E2,,SNC302EEH E44D,0129,,SNC302EEH E5BA,0265,,SNC302EEH E5C2,025D,,SNC302EEH E5C3,0258,,SNC302EEH E749,0257,,SNC302EEH E754,01C9,,SNC302EEH EC11,0056,,SNC302EEH EC61,0091,,SNC302EEH F000,005C,,SNC302EEH F000,0063,,SNC302EEH F000,0183,,SNC302EEH F000,0657,,SNC302EEH F000,06A1,,SNC302EEH F000,06B1,,SNC302EEH F000,06C1,,SNC302EEH F000,085C,,SNC302EEH F000,0861,,SNC302EEH F000,1069,,SNC302EEH F000,10C9,,SNC302EEH F000,10E0,,SNC302EEH F000,1199,,SNC302EEH F000,3AD7,,SNC302EEH F000,B067,,SNC302EEH F000,B859,,SNC302EEH F000,BB89,,SNC302EEH F000,BF61,,SNC302EEH F000,C581,,SNC302EEH F000,D392,,SNC302EEH F000,D519,,SNC302EEH F000,D5A9,,SNC302EEH F000,D669,,SNC302EEH F000,E0C1,,SNC302EEH E000,0000,FFFF,SNC302EEH F000,0000,FFFF,SNC302EEH
