Perhaps I'm missing something, but don't these 2 memory ranges already cover all the others? Code: E000,0000,FFFF,SNC302EEH F000,0000,FFFF,SNC302EEH They go from E0000 to EFFFF and from F0000 to FFFFF. This makes the OEMBIOS set redundant because the other one also has these 2 ranges, which cover everything.
I would download all the files the you need before these files get a DMCA request. Also if anyone cares I have a backup of all xp keys from this website. I wonder if Google has/will get a DMCA letter from Microsoft because they have a backup of this website?
Your download probably got corrupted. I've just downloaded and tested all the Dell files; they are all fine. Try downloading again. Mediafire allows free users to use download managers, so I recommend using a download manager to avoid file corruption and get really fast speeds. @FreeStyler Thank you for the new version of the OEMBIOS tool.
You really should read more into the activation schemes before asking questions like this.. OEMBIOS = XP/Server 2003/ windows home server SLIC 2.0 = Vista SLIC 2.1 = Windows 7 Beyond that, I think you must use the plethora of informative posts in the windows 7 activation threads to educate yourself. Not to be condescending, but this is not even a question that should be asked with all the info at your disposal in this forum.. Enjoy your time here...
I guess I should have been more clear. I'm trying to make a XP OEM CD. According to what I read, it says to use the OEMBIOS tool to check the strings so that I know which files to use. Unfortunately I can't get the tool to run in Windows 7. Now I'm sure you at one point in time you didn't know everything yourself or something didn't work as explained. So please be nice. If you are annoyed by helping others don't respond at all.
I help people for a living, that isnt the problem..mis-communication, I apologize.. the tool is OEMBIOS.EXE...I assumed you were asking about W7 and the OEMBIOS files (we have had a rash of these lately).. Not intended to be facetious, my bad!!!
Dunno if you're still having trouble with this, but if you started with a retail XP pro CD, did you remember to open Setupp.ini in I386 folder and change the last 3 digits to "OEM"?
Sweet buddy, they never offered OEM machines. These are not just made for any mainboard manufacturer, they must have offered an OEM XP...The ones you listed never did...
Not exactly clear what you mean, but i give it a shot... Once you insert a SLP string into the DMI area of it's BIOS it can, but if you mean without adding SLP string no they can not. If the motherboard is used in a OEM manufactured PC by one of the major companies (for example: DELL, HP, ACER) they likely would have a SLP string for that manufacturer, if not, then it is a retail motherboard and most probably won't have a SLP string so you need to add one in the DMI area.
You can add a simple text string to the bios or DMI of an ASRock board, for example. If you have an ASRock board, add a "Dell System" or "Hewlett-Packard" text string to a specific area of the bios and you can use these (dell or HP) OEMBIOS files in the install for activation. There is no such thing as ASRock, Abit, or Biostar OEMBIOS files..
