Anyone interested in converting en_win_xp_pro_x64_with_sp2_vl_x13-41611.iso to retail or oem here are two deltas. The results will be (retail)CRMPXFPP_EN.ISO and (oem)CRMPXOEM_EN.ISO. 747b4c9a6f29082a88daa6c3d298585c6959d7a1 *CRMPXFPP_EN.ISO 402cf4c7aa1ec80938c0a82ae79f2e154fdde728 *CRMPXOEM_EN.ISO These were made possible from OZ's original deltas converting the trial version of server 2003R2 x64 and FreeStylers link to the server image.
Im still a newb and still trying to figure this stuff out and havnt found the right thread to explain this.can anyone tell me or direct me to the page that tells why you would want or need to do this?
I have tried to download this at least ten times now. every time it gets around 500mb and stops! has anyone used it successfully? I really need this version. I cant use torrents and this is the only direct link I have found for this.
try it now though.. wont download direct through browsers or with download managers, Ive tried everything.. "server error"hey, can you answer my previous questions about deltas? Ive read a few pages but I still dont understand why you would want to do this from VL to OEM or retail?
hi Tito, Ive read that link already but it does not answer my question: why would you want to do this?it seems to me there would be a top version of each OS that would be most preferred by everyone but it is obviously not the case and I dont understand why.I downloaded from un_users link first time, the file matched yours exactly. I am setting it up now. thanks again!
Here is my explanation: Someone have a xp sp2 oem version and want to have xp sp2 retail version. there exit few posibilities : ask a friend, download from internet, buy a cd or use a delta file. If someone want to help make a delta file. Delta file is the difference between xp sp2 oem version and xp sp2 retail version (in our example) and is approx 12mb. So, instead of downloading whole image which is approx 5xx mb, only download a small file which is applied by a program xdelta.exe to xp sp2 oem version and the result is xp sp2 retail version.
so the (or a) reason for deltas is to save bandwidth/time. is that the only reason? I was thinking that there must be some reason that some people would prefer a retail or OEM version over a VLK but I dont know what that would be. does VLK version not work on some computers?
Yes. No. Well, some peoples are collectors, they don't use this version, this is only for informational purposes.
I think I am becoming a collector myself but not for nostalgic purposes. these older OS are just more efficient. I was looking at your posts and from them I learned about the FLP edition, that is something that can be very useful if you want efficiency (power input to processing output ratio) this is very important for projects that require alternative power sources like solar power. I may try to get this FLP english and do some testing for exactly this reason. Im glad to have meet you here un_user! thanks again.
sorry for XP i was thinking the same because the other day i was looking for apps for XP on softdownfast this web but the next day i found out that the XP was disappearing...well i want to say the windows has stopped the software updates for XP....i was very sad to hear it really
Space is cheap these days, but depending on your collection, get large drives. This isn't even close to finished yet, and already 750GB just for this section.
I wanted to thank you all for this great site, but I also want to ask, how on earth can I run this OEMBIOS image inside a virtualbox? How do I boot an image of this OEM BIOS image instead of the usual XP?
