If you get the "NTLDR is Missing" error, follow these instructions: 1. Load Windows XP CD into CD drive. 2. Boot the computer from CD. 3. At menu, press "R" to load Recovery Console. 4. Select the installation to be fixed. 5. The following instructions assume CD-ROM is labeled as drive D and the hard drive partition the windows installation is on is labeled as drive C. Replace the letters accordingly. 6. Type "COPY D:\i386\ntldr C:\" and press ENTER. 7. Type "COPY D:\i386\ntdetect.com C:\" and press ENTER. 8. Remove CD and type "EXIT" and press ENTER (to reboot your computer).
uhm ok ill try that.. the test from OEMBIOS test : ''Windows XP OEMBIOS Test v1.1/256/112 None of the 112 contained OEMBIOS sets will preactivate this system'' this bad? o_o;; oh and no i dont get the NTLDR is missing now, instead it said it cant boot because the windows/system32/config/System file is missing and invalid or corrupt BOOT.ini

Type in bootcfg /rebuild at the prompt. a. Prompt Add installation to boot list? Select Yes b. Prompt Enter load identifier Type in the exact name of your OS i.e Windows XP Professional Edition (or whatever it is) c. Prompt Enter OS Load Options: Type /fastdetect Type Exit Your Finished! @ ameykelkar, whole problem here is fiona still has corrupt system install files were not copied over and she also used xp home rather than xp pro which she originally had installed, I think her cd is corrupt.
i swapped the slots of my ram and tried to install the xp home edition , suprisingly it didnt give me the ''could not copy bla..'' so then i could continue on the installation of the windows. i expected more problems to pop out seems like it didnt soooo hurrah! thanks amey :] i dont think the cd is the problem or smthin just something else thats making that which im not very sure :s anyway, it is running fine now!
The mission 1 links are a bit messed up. first link to XP Pro x86 is actually a link to XP home Second link to XP Home is actually a link to Pro X64 the last 2 links look correct.
