Sorry ,i could not do a search with this phrase. About 3 weeks ago i ran W7LDR 1.0.0.0 on win 7600 ultimate; this went well, today i got this: "this copy of windows is not genuine" ,should unload the loader and apply the latest 1.0.9.7 W7LDR ? Thanks
Hi, I got the same problem. I installed win7vista toolkit a couple of months ago, and today, got the same message. I tried 7loader 1.5.5, Windows 7 toolkit 1.8, but they didn't work. Any ideas, pleaaasae? Thank you!
I tried Daz and Hagar's loaders. Daz's gives me Unknown Error for all three methods (new, old and experimental loader). Bios... do I need to flash the bios? How much skill do I need? (I obviously don't have much ) Thanks again guys
If you used Toolkit 1.8 from Orbit you need to restore some system files. Take a look at section 6-I of my guide.
Great point..but this is usually an error about keys not being valid.. As for the bios mod..not much skill anymore..we took that part for you... A basic understanding of point and click, or just request one and flash the bios.. I would suggest reading the posts in the mod thread before jumping on the band wagon. It is not for everyone. If you are comfortable with loaders only at this point..that is great too. Follow Opa's steps and maybe use the loaders again after the file update. Stay away from the "act*vators". They change files, loaders do not..
i started this post ; this is what i did: removed with w7ldr 1.0.0.0 /reboot installed with w7ldr 1.0.1.9 /reboot not activated. removed with w7ldrw7ldr 1.0.1.9 /reboot. run Windows 7 Loader 1.5.5.0 ,default settings /reboot not activated. AV and win firewall are off. Any suggestions welcome ; i'm not sure about possible risks in modifing the bios. perhaps i should take this to the Windows 7 Loader thread ?
You can try to mod the BIOS with slic2.1.I have used moded BIOS downloded from these forums.I have moded Dell D420,Lenovo R50e,Hp tx2500,Kohjinsha 610B( all belongs to me and my family members). All BIOS downloded were moded by the experts .So for no problem.Only thing is just to follow their advice rather than acting smart.
If this problem crops up again i might try that, what would be the risk ? worst case scenario ;flash a new bios ? or is there a chance i wreck my mb flashing a modded bios?
Unfortunately thats one of the potential issues with loaders, they can be unpredictable when you have multiple OSs or partitions. Newer versions are supposed to be better, but using a modded BIOS and avoiding loaders all together is a much better long term solution. The catch-22 that you are in now is that your problem can be repaired by booting from a W7 install DVD and selecting startup repair os that both your Vista & W7 will work, BUT this will probably screw up the loader so that neither W7 or Vista will be activated any more. If you have to use a loader, you need to find one that will work with your configuration and make sure you select the correct installation options for the loader so it will work with both Vista & W7 on your machine.
