    Is this a mistake for nc8430/nx8420/nw8440 between the old and no SLP check, and EF should be 90?

    It is not a mistake, dont forget we are here in a compressed area, a mixed of code and compression intructions.
    If you are interessed, use ADDCC to decompress an original BIOS and this modified one to compare results.

    I decompressed it and it looks a lot better.

    Hallo People,
    HP Compaq 540/550 Notebook PC (version F.00 22-may-2008)
    is this bios work anybody try ??? my hp 550 have bios 68mvu f.05 from 01/19/2009 , but on the hp side is only this like modded bios (version F.00 22-may-2008)
    CAN I FLASH IT with old One ???????

    have you found a way to flash protected area (F0000h-FFFFFh) ?

    Downgrading F.0F -> F.06 -> F.00 cann't update the protected area (it's still in F.0F state), but BIOS detected as downgraded (File -> System information -> ROM BIOS Version).

    HP550 f.05 - error - the bios image is corrupted or does not contain the correct digital signature.the system bios will not be updated.

    than i put HPQFlash-4253_patched_new in bios folder and than click next - No Problem
    BuT i CANT backup my current BIOS before starting flashin with the Moded One !!! ROMPAQ.exe give me error - NTVDM.EXE has stopped working (CRASH) ????
    How can i BACKUP BIOS FIRST?!?!
