I'm not sure but as 8 never had a name it probably was "Blue". They had a time problem with issuing a perfect blue and came along with a half brewed 8 as we are familiar with since last August. Now they are mostly finished with it and show it to us as a new improved issue which was intended to be a "Blue" from the beginning. I'm 99.9% positive that it is no W9 but the final version of W8, nothing else
As Windows blue should be released in summer this year, i highly doubt it is Win 9. Don´t believe they throw out their next OS nearly one year after the previous.
We'll just have to see. Microsoft is now playing the"Cat" and mouse game with Apple so I think anything is possible; hell... it could be Windows 8½ for all we know and we could all be wrong
I would second that! Microsoft last year was need to get both out: Surface with Windows 8, or RT first and Windows 8 with the exact same GUI! and Phone 8 was come as well! If MS didn't have launched it's "Flagship", which is Windows * (now) at the same time as the long pronounced Tablet, People would have laughed! The therefore early release of Windows 8 wasn't the real "final" at those time. So, it's not to fdar to say that the now leaked Beta is the real Final of Windows 8. MS has a lot of time in the past month's after releasing Windows 8 to learn from their mistakes and I'm sure, they did! On the other hand, MS would never admit that they had done a mistake with that early release of Windows 8! I downloaded the Beta and will install today and see what it really is, as far as I maybe able to find out. The most interesting is the new Kernel! OK, let see how it works!
After installing the Beta on an Spare HDD on my laptop, I decided to delete it. There to many things didn't working, even after activation with MTK! Wait for the next "Release" so I didn't want to lose time.
same here, to me it is too unfinished yet and some parts don't work. I guess I will use the version which will be available pretty soon on Technet
Agreed with you, using it is a pain more than fun.... I think its just unfinished SP applied to win8..
Well independent of kernel version,features, build lab etc... M$ makes the decision as to what they want to officially name it.
