    yes, my tool binx.exe saves the original date/time stamp before making changes and then re applies the original date/time stamp after the changes to preserve the original date/time stamp

    Is mostly what i got atm, other members are welcome to chip in with missing files:good3:
    I did find a new diamond, not makecab (1.00.603.0), uploading later, i may find more, date stamp on 7z will be reflected ofc.
    I tried this one with my Win 95 rtm oem and guess what: a new byte value and order again despit using same settings and compression...:swoon:

    So, MS had followed their internal zigzag course for a long time. Maybe too many cooks poisoning the stew.

    For that reason, it's important to cover the compression methods, even the most exotic ones. You never know what archives might still be out there.
