?

Should I use powershell in this script to add more features? Vista will no longer be supported.

Hi is there anyway to run this on linux.. I have no knowledge of this nor any idea of what im doing, just going at this blindfolded really. I tried windows loader, opening the exe file with wine but it says "you're on linux, there's no need to activate!" so idrk what to do after than and ive been trying to get this cmd file to run in linux which is probably dumb but that hasn't been going anywhere so far.. In conclusion i just need to know if this is windows exclusive and if it isnt how exactly can i get either of these software to run on linux and how exactly do i go about using them. Ty :)

It's a windows activation method, what would you expect when running it on linux?

Yea i'm aware, but since I have no way of going back to windows 10 I was just hoping there might be a workaround for linux users.. but i guess not

    @RudyProxy

What do you exactly want to achieve?

yeah, linux is 100% free (freedom; at least the open source os made out of it); you don’t even need a single loader or key at all
now, i’m wondering if this can be compatible with a different bootloader (grub2win efi)

I've been thinking of upgrading back to windows 7. I don't really know how to go about doing that though as the software requires being on windows and i'm on linux.

So does that mean i'd be able to get the iso without needing a key?

It amazes me that Daz would have even buried such a check inside the Windows Loader executable

Hello everyone sorry to bump this thread but I have a question. Let's say I install Windows 7 on a HDD and used the activation tool, and then cloned it over to an SSD, would the activation still work or require me to activate it again?
    Thanks.

Is it possible to use this tool now with secure boot?

No. Secure Boot works by using a digital signature, which the bootloader doesn't have

Thank you. So it seems to me that using Windows 7 Enterprise with a KMS activation tool would be a solution to get the most of Windows 7 with UEFI and secure boot? Would the method with a SLIC modded bios and DAZ-Loader also work on the Ultimate edition?

SLIC method works on all Windows 7 versions except Enterprise.
KMS works on Windows 7 Professional and Enterprise only.

UEFI boot can be used with a class 2 UEFI (CSM present) which has support for the legacy INT10 VGA functionality, as Windows 7 does not support GOP.
Windows 7 cannot use Secure Boot.

Seems like I read some fake news as lots of reputable media outlets reported that Microsoft would have enabled secure boot with the last ESU update, but some already reverted their reports.
I found this clarification on the forum:

I wonder what compatibility issues are there? Is there absolutely no practical way to make it work?

From what I know, SecureBoot requires booting in pure UEFI mode. As Win7 does not support GOP (UEFI graphics routines), it cannot boot in pure UEFI mode and stops at the boot animation.

    In my practice,
if same PC family, then no issue. say, HP PCa to HP PCb (no need exactly same. such as HP G1 to HP G4). or MSI a to MSI b. No any problems.

If different family, may or may not need to re-activate (Lenov to Dell, or MSI to HP, sometimes require. sometimes NOT)

Can confirm, on 2022 hyper-v host, the guest 2022 vm won't boot at all with secure boot disabled (returns the error above). The tool had successfully installed OEM:SLP key and certificate.

However, on 2019 hyper-v host, the guest 2022 vm activation status = licensed with secure boot disabled. So they definitely changed something in 2022 server / Win11 to prevent this tool from working.

Is EZwindSLIC still being supported or considered abandoned?
