Hello Andy. I have a Dell Precision M6300, a M4300, a M2300 and a D430. The last BIOS Versions released for These machines still include SLIC 2.0 Dell M08 and I tried several Versions of Your tool. The Problem is that everything seems to be ok until I click on the flasher exe for example M6300A14.exe. Then it tells me that an unexpected error accured while running the Flash application. Then I can click OK and it terminates. With BIOS A13 it worked fine, but something is changed by Dell since then.

Can You help me? I try to insert SLIC 2.2. I also have an Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000 in this machine and I would like to have the ability to Change multiplicator in the BIOS which Needs to be modded for this, too. About the CPU a already posted a modding request in Phoenix BIOS Manual Modding Section.

    Thank You for Your Attention.

    Sincerely, Jelges

@Jelges - You must extract the HDR from the newest BIOS, then use the PhoenixTool on the HDR file itself. Then use the previous BIOS flasher with the "/readgzfile" to flash the modified "bios.gz".

    Ex:
    - M6300A14.exe /writehdrfile
    - Use PhoenixTool on M6300A14.hdr
    - Copy M6300A13.exe and bios.gz to USB stick
    - Flash under DOS: M6300A13 /readgzfile

I think You mean A14 all the time, right?

Do You have any idea regarding the multiplicator Setting in the BIOS?

Nope. You must use the previous BIOS flasher that does not support the digitally signed BIOS (ex: M6300 A13).

So for the M6300, you need to use the A13 BIOS flasher to flash the modified A14 (bios.gz) file. Just make sure you do this under real DOS from a USB stick.

I'm considering a Gigabyte GA-H61M-HD2 with UEFI, and want to be sure I can do a working SLIC 2.1 mod before I buy it. I have opened the h61mhd2.f2 BIOS file with Phoenixtool 2.14, selected "other" for manufacturer, and Dell SLIC & SLP. The program identifies it as EFI / Insyde BIOS and defaults to "module" for method. When I press go it asks if I'm SURE I want to proceed without the RW Everything report, I select "yes" (can't get RW report without the board). It stops with message "Error 5 - Offset and length were out of bounds for the array or count is greater than the number of elements from index to the end of the source collection." No modded BIOS is created.

Is this problem likely caused by the lack of RWE report? Is this board (or the latest Gigabyte boards in general) a challenge to get SLIC 2.1 working on? I've done about a dozen BIOS mods over the last few years, but this is the 1st time the board wasn't present. Please give whatever info you can, don't want to buy a board I can't use, and don't want to use a loader.

    Thanks

    How rude, keeping me waiting:D

Seriously though, thanks for the quick reply. Problem solved, and my apologies for not searching a bit better before asking.

Why not F3f? I believe it's listed as beta, and didn't show any fixes that I needed. Would you recommend F3f instead?

    Thanks

That depends on you... if you need Secure Boot option. Btw, thanks for the feedback.

    Dell Vostro 3560 -2.2ghz- i7-3632qm-intel-HM77

Hello Andy, I purchased a vostro 3560 with i73632q and intel hm77 with ubuntu that I have formatted and installed win7 pro 32bit from MS without activation. I plan to install win7 64 bit ultimate - dell oem on it. To check slic version I used slic toolkit 3.2 version, but it did not list slic version (Says- Dump error, slic table not found)- neither did the rw utility 1.4. Could you please help me find the slic or if it is not there, then to create it in my pc.
    Best.
    Ujai

    PS: it mentions- insyde.
