    Dear Mr Andy,
I need latest AMI BIOS ADD SLIC TOOL. I have AMI_SLIC3, which when I open suggests new tool availability. Further it is not accepting Intel BIO FILE saying BIO file must be 128 KB.
    Regards

    hi andy
thank you for your modification work.
    extract error does not exist.
but i got an another error.
I extract and modify MOD file. and then replace MOD file.
I got a modified rom file. and then i updated bios with modified rom file.
at this time i got a checksum error.
if you possible, can you update phoenixtool?
Anyway i respect your work and ability

It says checksums ok, the tool would detect if they weren't
Could you upload a copy of the modified module
It maybe that there are other checks that the tool is not aware of
Does the unmodified BIOS flash ok with the same flashtool??

    Hi Andy

Thanks for a great tool and I hope you'll excuse me if I run a problem I've been having past you?

I've been trying to create a SLIC2.1 BIOS mod for a Dell Latitude D505 laptop (original post here) but, despite having an RW report, the tool fails, with the error message "cannot replace mcfg location in rsdt as no rw report".

I just wondered whether or not I'm doing something wrong, and whether this is relatively simple to fix? I know people have modded Latitude D505 BIOSes successfully before, but any download links have long since expired ...

    Any assistance gratefully received :)

    Hi

    Thanks.
I didn't mean you had reported the wrong error message - the error message itself is wrong!
Hmmm... you have so few ACPI tables. Have you turned anything off in BIOS??

Had a look, I'm not sure how to make this work. There isn't any space in the actual ROM for another table and I don't think we can replace BOOT (and certainly cant FACP).
