the problem is: some of HP ntb' s (seems that only new ntb' s with official win 7 support) have slic 2.1 in bios, but slic is disabled (you don' t pay win licence) you don' t need to flash modded bios, you need only unlock already presented slic in bios this is the tool (package of tools), but "how to" is in Czech (try google translate) this can' t harm your motherboard (but nobody guarantee that, it' s your risk), feel free to try it, when it doesn' t work, flash modded bios, that' s all...
Gateway Mod Ok so I got impatient and I tried flashing the mod'ed bios. Unfortunately, I have not been able to successfully load the file. Depending on the switches I use with iflash.exe, I can either get "this is the same bios, no need to flash" or just "flash unsuccessful". Loaded another earlier bios the normal way and retried flashing the mod'ed bios and then I only get "flash unsuccessful"... I tried to use Flas**t, but it will not take the .bio files. Any suggestions? I heard something about a method with removing a jumper and then turning the computer on and leaving a disk in the drive with the bios file. But it seemed a little vague and I wasn't sure exactly how to go about this. Any help with this would be good too. Thanks.
@elof6669 bios is recognized in tool, however there is no slic present (2.0), there for can not be modifyed. This tool can only overwrite slic in dell bioses (for ex. 2.0 > 2.1) and cant add new one.
Ahhh ok was thinking that was one possibility but didnt find it written anywhere along side the tool. Thanks for the help SoLoR!
Phoenixtool 1.11b2 successfully modded an Asus P5Q Deluxe EFI bios today using a SSV2 mod, worked perfectly.
I tried your Acer bios, I found that if I run the windows flash tool it dumps the 32bit and 64bit flash tools into my Windows temp along with the bios, I copied the bios from there to a folder on my desktop, ran phoenixtool 1.10 and was able to do a dynamic slic fine, I was able to also do a SSV2 slic fine. Make sure your acer is flashed with that latest bios you're trying to mod, create an rw everything report and upload it. I don't see any reason why the ssv2 or dynamic mod i've just done wouldn't work. They look correct and I don't get any warnings about incomplete slic table.
I did a dynamic mod using files from temp folder, and its working like a charm. windows 7 is activated fine and up till now no problems with the modded bios. great tool and great support, thank you all.
