Can anyone reload the latest version of phoenixtool in the first post, please? There is virus in file from that link.
Linked version is 2.59 while newest is 2.66... Anyways does anybody know how to integrate SLIC into newest Gigabyte Bioses for Z170 boards? Q-Flash will block any modified BIOS from getting flashed.
Hi folks, I've reached this thread searching for a tool capable opening some Phoenix bioses not parsed by cbrom195 or cbrom198. Beside SLIC I wish to update cpu microcode also. I was just wondering if there is a way to make this possible using phonenixtool266. I'm using ASUS DSBF-DE with Xeon L5430, the latest bios doesn't include latest Intel cpu microcode. thank you, Fabix
I have trouble making this for SLIC 2.4 downloads.dell.com/FOLDER02411239M/1/PET110II_020800.exe Can anyone help? Thanks!.
Hi Folks, I've modded several BIOSs in the past (thanks to the incredible tools and MDL Community) but I can't figure out this one. Dell Inspiron 5559 Laptop preloaded w/ Win10Home. Looking to Slic 2.1 it for Windows 7 installation. Grabbed PhoenixTool 2.66 and RWEverything 1.6.9. Saved the ACPI tables from RWE, then opened PhoenixTool, Selected Original BIOS (Inspiron5459_127.exe from here: p://www dell com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=7J2DH) selected SLIC file from SLIC21, SLP from SLP, and the AcpiTbls.rw file. Method changes between Module and then ends on Code. Error is: ** DELL CBX3 string found in PADDING_70.ROM at 5F194 replaced (next line) Unable to add SLIC code. Does anyone have any ideas on what to try next? It looks successful with the Module Method, but I've read about bricks with that.. also I don't usually mess with the options in the tool.. trying not to brick the new laptop, lol. If there is a PhoenixTool support thread somewhere else I should hit up, please let me know that also. Thanks much -pd
Oh, didn't realize that SLP was XP. I just tried it but omitted the SLP step and it errored out in the same way. I would be happy to demo this for anyone or even record it if that's helpful. I know I could probably post it in the requests section too, but I didn't want to just take the easy way out. Any other ideas? Thanks for the help. -pd EDIT: Apparently having trouble Englishing this morning.. :\
Well that didn't work. I now have a laptop with an asset tag of PASS:12/34. Also doesn't seem like I can change it. Is that because it's not a PowerEdge server? Not sure why they would include a Windows 7 2.1 SLIC in a recent laptop that only is delivered with Windows 10.. but that could be I suppose. Any other ideas? Also, any other ideas on how to unset the Asset Tag setting? Thanks, -pd EDIT: Well, looking back at the link yet again, it looks like I was to enter ASSET PASS:12/34 in the asset tag field. #fail. So, I guess now I need a way to reset that field, and/or change it with a utility? Looks like the Dell utilities online are not working with newer laptops? This is an Inspiron 5559
Someone on the Dell forum (2012-12-19) got out of the "manufacturing mode" by loading the defaults and exiting the BIOS (Inspiron 660s, possibly not UEFI though). Maybe you could try that. See "verified answer" at : h__p://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19302030
Download Link not clear It would be great if you would mark clearly the download location, it was not easy to find. v2.59 Datafilehost is not clear as a download link and had I not accidentally moused over it, I did not think this was the file. Perhaps DOWNLOAD THIS v2.59 from Datafilehost might be a better way to find the download. And having it near the bottom was not very helpful either. I am very new to modding BIOS Files but I am not new to Threads or Forums. I do not mean to be disrespectful I am just saying here, help out the noobs by making downloads CLEAR. Thanks for all your hard work, and I really do mean THANKS...
