thx @Serg008 ! I pick the extracted BIOS.CAP file with the Phoenix tool, select "Dell" as Manufacturer and at Advanced tab I selected "Extract modules when verifying". After pressing "Done" there is no button "verifiy", only "GO" and "Structure". When walking through the created folders, no HDR or ROM file shows up.. I am too silly for this tool... Pls help... Best regards Peter
Hi! A few years ago I put SLIC 2.3 into the ASUS Q87M-E firmware with PhoenixTool (NewModule). Today I tried to update the firmware with SLIC to version 2.5 using the same method. The firmware was updated, but the SLIC remained the same version 2.3. However, I tried to load a simple original firmware without SLIC and SLIC2.3 is still there. Guys, please tell me what to do to update SLIC to 2.5 ? Thank you in advance for the answer!
Thanks a lot! Second link was my solution. After flashing with single checked #2 of "Non-critical block" SLIC 2.5 was successfully found against previous 2.3
Hi Guys, does anyone know, how to disable the embedded SLIC of a DELL PowerEdge R320 or similar? Is there maybe some asset tga, which wil disbale it again?
Hi, when phoenix tool ver 2.73 is starting to extract my Bios I receive a message saying: "Error 5 - Offset and length were out of bounds for the array or count is greater than the number of elements from index to the end of the source collection" There is also a message below saying Pubkey found in PADDING_20.ROM at B026A28 Could you please help me?
I created this account just to solve this issue. I read somewhere on the dell forums about my issue and the person said they had to "hack" their bios to add pci subsystem options in the advanced tab in order to boot up with a rx 550 gpu installed which is exactly what I'm trying to do. How do I go about adding pci options to my inspiron 620 bios? I've seen ahci options added but I have no idea what was changed to achieve that addition. I'll gladly do the work myself I'm just not sure what to change. Any help would save me frustration and be greatly appreciated.
The MEGA mirrors on the first post are working fine. I also added MediaFire mirrors for the v2.66 and v2.73 builds.
Is there any way to repack a EFI/Insyde BIOS file with changing the binary of some of it's modules? Using PhoenixTool or any other, but without the SLIC adding process.
