Thank you so much for all your help. All 4 machines that I've tried are 32-bit machine, they have winxp, tiny xp, tiny 7 on them respectively. I've even tried to re-download the original .EXE file from dell too. Whats so frustrating is... they all give the same error for your RW and Mine! Damn it! (Note, with everything remain the same, if I manually select "Dynamic", it would then work but then it would be useless since it didnt have a SLIC table... )
OK, I found the problem.... I was using the .EXE directly with the tool and it gave error. When I extract the .HDR manually myself and then use the .HDR with the tool.. it would then work, just like yours. Is this a bug or am I not suppose to use the .EXE directly?
With some older exe's that don't accept the -writehdrfile command you do need to extract the hdr manually
Yes but this one do accept -writehdrfile.. that's how I extracted mine anyway before using it with the tool....
may be i will have to try this on a xp rig as i have no options under "properties" to change the memory sizes. im trying it on my win7 x64
These old BIOSes use the 16bit subsystem not in x64 OSes. You will need to do from XP. I did it in the XP virtual machine in Win7 x64. Andy
many thx andyp for your help................... yes thats what i ran into.....looks like i'll have to stick to the loader
