Let me know which ones and i will trawl to see if can find other locks. If no lock identified (when Acer manufacturer selected) then yes, need to try ssv2 Andy
the default BIOS settings on that board are AHCI, Dell set it back to ATA/IDE to install their image on it so it won't boot if you load defaults in the bios back to ACHI until you set it back to ATA/IDE. It's not a problem with the mod or the tool or anything, it's not even a problem, after flashing a board you need to configure its bios. Windows needs installed with AHCI for ACHI mode to work, as the Dell Images aren't installed using ACHI mode then it doesn't boot with it.
When the BIOS comes up first time, when it would normally boot win7 the system reboots, then everything loads normally. It only does this once, the first time after you flash it. Observed this twice when loading new BIOS's onto machine. System works perfectly when switched backed to ATA. Just didnt expect it so was caught out. They have a Samsung SSD in this laptop which the name is Samsung SSD RBX Series 128GB. Maybe I should reinstall the OS using AHCI instead... hmmmm.
The benefit to AHCI is hot swapping, I doubt you'll be hot swapping your solid state primary drive so ATA is fine
1.59 doesn't work for Acer 8735ZG Trying to insert SLIC 2.1 1.59 reports success (using dynamic method or SSV2), but when opening the modded BIOS, it says "Complete SLIC (2.0) (ACRSYSACRPRDCT ANNI) in ACPI05.ROM (x1) Pubkey and marker (2.1) (ACRSYSACRPRDCT) in ACPI05.ROM (x1)" There is BIOS and RW report in archive: h**p://featheredfrog.org.ua/forums.mydigitallife.net/Acer_8735ZG_BIOSes_and_RW.rar Just replace h**p:// with http:// in web-browser (sorry for inconvenience) I think it's a new variety of Acer lock maybe it can be solved with advanced settings of 1.59, but I'm not sure Hope for new version of Phoenix mod tool Thank you!
andyp, is it still needed to have a slic 2.0 present in the bios ??? because my old laptop has no slic table in the bios and i want to mod it with 2.1
Please give a translation. It is against forum rules to not have a translation with a foreign language.
I assume your bios already has a 2.0 slic for Vista? If this is the case dynamic will replace that slic with the 2.1 for Win7, have you tried flashing with the dynamic mod?
Thank you, Andy, but 1.61 didn't help either. Now there is the following in log: Module 51 lock (type 3) found in MOD_5100.ROM at 5E2E Module 51 lock (type 3) found in MOD_5100.ROM at 5E2E patched New MOD_5100.ROM Module is correct size ** MOD_5100.ROM reintegrated successfully But, after all, got the same: "Complete SLIC (2.0) (ACRSYSACRPRDCT ANNI) in ACPI05.ROM (x1) Pubkey and marker (2.1) (ACRSYSACRPRDCT) in ACPI05.ROM (x1)" Please help
