Hi xforce, I'm interested how you recover the corrupted BIOS on K53SV notebook. May I know what is the procedure to recover it?
Hi, Has anyone got a working link for 1.85? The myftp link isnt working, and i cant download from the filesonic link a few posts up!! Cheers Shaun
Thanks. Will check SSV2 code. I haven't adjusted that for a while so it should be OK. I don't know what else to do for dynamic, I will look elsewhere but am not sure where the marker is being copied then. Andy
Getting error message of UNABLE TO ADD SLP. HP DV7-1243CL laptop with newest firmware F.49 (Date of 08/2009) Insyde BIOS. Running 1.84 version of MOD TOOL. I did my RW report correctly. Not sure of motherboard manufacturer. CPU-Z says Compaq/HP so I chose other. For SLIC I choose the built-in HP choice since it is an HP laptop. Method is automatically chosen - DYNAMIC. If I leave the SLP option blank the process finishes and it seems to be OK. Too afraid right now to update or try it until I get reply from here. Not my first time doing this but certainly no expert or know it all. lol What am I doing wrong? Or is it OK without SLP? I need full functionality.
Thanks, thanks, thanks TTAV! BUT - Darn! I really did search in that thread about 7 different ways too! How did you do it so easily!? lol I searched DV7, DV7-1, DV7-1000, etc. I even searched DV7 & F.49! Now, it is great that I got it...but since you were the modifier - why was I not able to do it? The SLP error? I like to learn! lol
I've been modding successfully a Asrock Z68 Pro3 (Bios 1.30) and a Z68 Pro3-M (Bios 1.20)! I used PhonixTool v.1.84 with module method. It did activate nicely - great work Andy, and many thanks for your super tool!
Hi Andy, This is a great tool. But I was wondering if there is a way to make the tool add both a SLIC and SLP 1.0 string to the bios at the same time ? I'm using the tool with the VMWare Worksation Linux bios and I would like to create a universal bios with both SLIC 2.1 and SLP 1.0 in it. Thanks in advance ildoc
Is it possible to modify the CPU microcode in the BIOS using this Phoenix SLIC Tool, to give support for an unsupported CPU?
