I want to do the same on XP , win7 x64 for me boots fine from usb, maybe win8 and win10 but i dislike.
In place upgrades fixed broken installations for two decades (in pre vista OS, also unbootable OSes can be fixed), still works in 2023. No, absolutely not. Each time you format instead of fix is a surrender, and a lost chance to learn something new.
I install for windows xp but I get the wallpaper and mouse cursor hang "loading your personal settings" , how to debug thx
I know i will have in the future a working xp.iso for Zotac pc, by now it wont boot, i will try again with w7 and latest w10 2004 or w8 and latest w10 2004 or only latest w10 2004, but i see in your spoiler config WINENGINEISO=Win10_21H2_English_x32.iso , ;WINXISO=Win10_21H2_English_x32.iso, so 21H2 is usable but not 22H2 ?
You are missing .NET on host. Everything is mentioned in first post.. Use any Windows 10 based on 19041, so all current Windows 10 builds are based on this one. You can safely use 22H2 or 23H1
So i must have all this .NET 2.0, 3.5, 4.0 installed on host ? I do not have anymore 25 error fron Nlite on IE tweaks because i' ve put this file in plugins\updates OnePiece_NetFxLangPack_SvcPack_AddOn_ITA.zip
Still getting the same error, used regedit to verify NDP version , HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP Attached logs, and also Iso boot error BTW used another Zotac pc with ssd to speed up deployment process (14:25,15:32,16:35)
@user469 Will check these logs during upcoming week. EDIT: Instead of debugging I will build it-IT with my latest XP2ESD to test that ISO to see differences. I think it should work fine as there is really big changelog ..
EDIT: It is very strange , on older pc hw the iso made win7+win10 it will boot and go ahead till end, on new hw pc iso will boot only in safe mode ( with no ESD / WIM / SIF error as in normal mode) and then go ahead till end, in both case a lot of missing drivers. (just tried the less complicated of 2 Zotac pc) Logs of SDIO easy Zotac attached, hard Zotac no way to XP for now.(win7x64 runs OK) Can you PM latest XP2ESD or even better newer ISO to test on the hard Zotac ?
@George King I just wanna point out that sometimes the SiliconMotion NVMe driver sometimes gives 0x1E BSOD during installation, while the windows 7 generic NVMe driver doesn't have this issue. The solution I propose is to change the file version from 10.4.49.0 to 5.2.10.4.49.0 (similar to the trick FlashBoot uses to prevent patched windows 7 bootmgfw from being overwritten by windows update) so that SDI will install on XP the windows 7 generic NVMe driver instead.
Can we open a new thread on how the XP2ESD boot works ? I never see this during instal I like very much this option Also a question can i boot XP2ESD in safe mode with F8 ? On my pc i get the old XP NTLDR if i press F8
In config.ini: Code: ADDWINLOAD=Yes USEWINLOAD=No ADDWINLOAD will add WINLOAD as an option along with BCD. If you set USEWINLOAD to Yes, NTLDR will be deleted, so keep USEWINLOAD to No to preserve NTLDR.
