Nope, It doesn't work even after installing Alky for Applications 1.1 (Alky_1_1_Trunk_032308-000051_xp) on XP x64.
Damn, I know somebody figured it in past. Same issue is on 5.2 x86 even with all components available it doesn't work. I quess there are some missing registry in 5.2 vs 5.1 where it works like a charm
I'm not sure It's a good idea to mount automaticly the EFI partition at each boot, real systems does not for security reasons. I prefer to have a clikable batch that mount the EFI partition from destop, then open the BCD in SoftIce via open other BSD file
I was hoping to create a cool gaming retro xp x86 image using this, a headsup the 5eraph_IE8_Addon is missing in X86 and can't find it.
so tdr, you remove all in C:\XP2ESD\plugins\updates\addons\x86 and only place the onepieceupdate pack?
lol Update Packs You must place them at XP2ESD\plugins\updates Addon folder, I don't need to delete anything.there
For the XP2ESD RunOnceEx optional package, regarding the latest version apps that still support Windows XP, there's also ClickTeam Fusion 2.5 (it allows you to make games that still run on XP, like Mario Forever Remake for example).
I can boot using ACPI: Multiprocessors on startup, then Windows XP goes trough the installation however once I reach "Updating installed drivers" it won't continue it sits there forever. Also it seems I can only boot if I select the ACPI Multiprocessors boot method however after the second reboot it gets into a boodloop. Not the correct HAL? Edit: Bootloops where due the PAE patch, I have now managed to reach the desktop.
When I use XP without any modern drivers. I need to use Dynamic Drivers option and include AHCI and USB drivers and you should be fine in first boot. But Thats not true at all as some machines require chipset drivers first.. To cover all scenarios I have added new options for DriverPacks. They need to be explained and documented. About that USB stick detection there were few more things broken it that case. First at all was badly configured STORUSB driver in Clonning mechanism. Now I don’t have this issue anymore, and when yes, then its easy to use Hybrid mode to overcome all issues. Btw, don’t tell ISO located on USB. This scenario will never be supported. You need to “Burn ISO to USB” stick. POWIS brings AIO solution for deploying any Windows from XP to 11.. No system combinations ISO support using Ventoy. That not possible. You just quoted my old answer, which tells you everything. Wait and be impressed.
Sorry if you misunderstood because of the poor wording usage earlier but I meant the Installation from USB Flash Drive onto XHCI Port.
@George King Btw, you should also add in your MDL XP2ESD first page that it's also possible to install XP on UEFI Class 3 if XP is installed from the XP2ESD installer onto VirtualBox and then migrate to physical hardware using my steps. But if you are busy, then complete your plans first and then this.
