I have tested Turkish build using these images with v1.6. Win10_21H1_Turkish_x32.iso tr_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x86_dvd_u_677484.iso tr_windows_xp_home_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_x14-92429.iso tr_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_vl_x14-74085.iso tr_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_x14-80496.iso Final XP2ESD ISO is +- 860 MBs and works without any problem in VirtualBox
But I also want to include XP RTM/SP1/SP1a/SP2 along with Server 2003 RTM/SP1. That's why my thing doesn't work.
If we are still talking about "Reserved system partition" removal, that has nothing to do with install.wim / install.esd except mentioned License file matching image flag. I will try XP RTM on my side to see difference, but this have nothing to do with used setup engine.
OK, I think I've fixed "Reserved System Partition" by changing Windows 10 ISO, but old service packs create problems when installing and capturing VHD.
SP2 ISO works, all older builds are not capable to be correctly captured, otherwise you get image without needed set of drivers and Longhorn NTLDR which is responsible to install correct HALs.
I got an idea, what about enabling/disabling option for Longhorn NTLDR and these HALs for older builds? Because I was able to build with RTM/SP1 without them.
We really need MassStorage drivers, otherwise it doesn't matter if you have Longhorn NTLDR when your system cannot see any HDD. I will contact author of MSSTMake, maybe it's possible to compile it with XP RTM compatibilty..
@example12345678912345678 I got answer from MSSTMake author. I will convert his answer into these words: "Don't waste time with older systems than XP SP3". So it's impossible to do it correctly. And my recommendation is similar. Archive only XP SP3 or SP3+ / Server 2003 SP2 or SP2+, older releases are too old to quarantee final result
I just didn't wanted my image to be too small. In my language there're only these editions and that's it: Code: Windows XP Professional Windows XP Professional VL Windows XP Home Edition Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition VL Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition VL Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition No K or N editions, no Web Server or Datacenter Server editions. Also I don't have any hope if I install an language pack into Windows XP/2003. So sad.
I got something, I think I can swap between SKUs by using a program that removes timebombs from pre-release versions of XP/2003. But switching from client SKU to server SKU makes OS extremely laggy. Rest of switches work well. But I don't know does it even count.
Thats really enough I have idea for years to create MUI RES patch from XP SP3+ to provide translation to XP x64 SP2+ which is based on Server 2003 and these files seems same in RES with XP ones. I will see it in future if I find some free time, as it's "only" about extracting related Dialogs, Strings tables etc and import them into needed files instead of using incomplete MUIs. But I think it will be waste of time as XP2ESD doesn't support x64 builds...
Hi George, a wonderful tool. Good work. I think, i found an issue: In the AutoSysprep.cmd Line 168-171 you search the Admin Account name. I have the XP Home Personal Edition, and there the DEFLTWK.IN_ is not exist. There you should search for the DEFLTP.IN_, and here to SceInfAdmins to found the Adminname. I think the Problem exists in all Personal Editions. Greatings Andy
I'm now trying Windows Vista as Windows 7 ISO and Windows 8 (not 8.1) as Windows 10 ISO. Wondering what will happen.
