For me, 7048 is quite the opposite. My install is rock solid, and even speedier than 7022! Everything (EVERYTHING!) worked out of the box on my laptop... I even have Chrome!

I have heard on sevenforums.com that it could be an ATI issue if you use ATI graphics.

I personally prefer Avast Free Home Edition.

Just use Windows update and it will download the latest WDDM 1.1 beta driver for ATi.
We have to wait till 18 March when the Windows 7 Catalysts 9.3 will be released officially.

Do you know if the 9.3 release will ve supporting older cards like radeon 9600/9800 etc??

The windows update drivers don't give great performance, i may just upgrade this dated 9600 to a AGP Radeon HD 3650 but i fear the the 9.3 will not support that as a hotfix driver for the agp version of the card is allready needed.. mmm

Humm .. i want to try this 64 build out but i don't know if my system is up to it. Anyone think my system can run this 64 build smoothly or should i just stay with the 7022?

My system is an Intel Dual Core E6600 with 2GB of RAM.

You really need 4GB RAM to run x64.

I must say 7048 x64 is much more refined then build 7000 x64, I don't know if it was my computer but there was a noticeable difference between in performance of x32 and x64 build 7000 for me.

Is not your computer, really works great, is time to migrate x64 I never saw my computer working this way with windows vista, is more responsive 7048 than 7022, the MC works great they have done a great job. I mean in performance. I think is almost done.

I'll give it a go on my Dual core with 2GB of ram once i get home from work today. I just want to see how it run. BTW, is there a lot of apps that will support this 64 build? I want to use all my apps that i've install with the 32 bit version. Hopefully all my apps will be compatible.

    A problem in build 7048

When I try to run performance index assessment it gives me an error at the end of the assessment. Do anyone have this problem or know the solution ?
